Scottish post-rockers Mogwai have released an official video for “The Lord Is Out Of Control”, which comes from their upcoming album Rave Tapes (out January 21st via Sub Pop Records). Directed by Antony Crook, the video plays out almost like a brief glimpse into the lives of a few people with no attempt at focusing on a story. Instead, we simply get to join along for a few brief minutes and see what encompasses their day. Head on below to give it a view.
I can’t tell you exactly what it is about the group’s new tracks that gets me incredibly excited, but something about them is just so entrancing and hypnotic that I can’t wait to hear the full album. You can pre-order Rave Tapes via iTunes. READ MORE

Honestly, listening to “Remurdered” is enough to get me insanely excited for this album. The song is a sexy slow burner, one that builds effortlessly into something unique and memorable. READ MORE

Universal Home Entertainment released the trailer for Don Mancini’s Curse of Chucky, the sixth Child’s Play film following the 2004 Seed of Chucky, today. And it actually looks pretty good! I’m digging the return to horror form, albeit at a lower budget.
In the sequel directed by creator Don Mancini, “Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.” The film hits VOD platforms September 24 with a Blu-ray/DVD date slated for October 8.
So, what did we learn from the trailer? Head below to find out!!! READ MORE
These days, artists love to dissect imaginary creations, literally.
Much like the Godzilla pieces, Brad McGinty created two incredible Gremlins prints: one of the guide to the Mogwai, the other to the Gremlin.
“I went over the top on the details, here. I created fake over printing and ink bleeds, and used brown craft paper to make these instructions to look especially flimsy and cheap,” he says of the Gremlin print, while adding, “While I want the Gremlin and Mogwai to fit right in to the anatomy collection, I made these two prints a little bit different so they could stand on their own.”
Talking the anatomy of the Mogwai: “I think the Mogwai might be my favorite of the anatomy collection so far. This print is a guide to the care and treatment of your pet Mogwai, complete with explanations of his inner workings in terrible Mandarin, and the three rules that you MUST follow to keep your Mogwai manageable. I tried to go over the top with the details on this print. I used fake over printing and ink bleeds on brown craft paper to make these instructions look especially cheap.” READ MORE

While I know that I’ve seen They Came Back, I don’t remember terribly much about it. However, I remember that it was definitely a very different kind of zombie film, one that played far more to emotions rather than scares and violence. Again, it’s been several years since I’ve seen it (I rented it, that’s how long ago it was). Anyone remember the film well enough to refresh my memory? READ MORE
