Dark Castle Heads to the ‘Dark Moon’

There are a lot of problems circling multiple “found footage” projects, only this one appears to have a happy ending, so says Heat Vision. Over the weekend, the Weinstein Co. announced that it had boarded the Timur Bekmambetov-produced Apollo 18 and would release the low-budget sci-fi thriller in March. In the wake of that, on Tuesday, Roland Emmerich pulled the plug on The Zone, another “found footage” project that was to have started shooting next week. The site reports that yet another project was shelved — but this time Dark Castle is in negotiating to pick it up in turnaround. Read on all about Dark Moon, from the director of The Fourth Kind.

Just announced the release date of Moon which was scheduled for release November 18th, will be pushed back to January 13th 2009. Acceptable because the 2 companies working on the game, Mastiff and Renegade Kid recently picked up James McDonough and Adam Patyk, who have worked on such films as Hellboy and Transformers to bring a darker feel to the game.

“With each passing day I see Moon grow into a darker, more heart pounding beast,” said Bill Swartz, from Mastiff. “Gamers are in for an intense experience unlike anything they’ve ever experienced on the DS.” READ MORE

Mastiff and Renegade Kid have announced that they have joined up with James McDonough and Adam Patyk, who have worked on such films as Hellboy and Transformers. They will help with the writing of the Moon storyline, to help give it more of a dark feel to it.

“Working on Moon has been an absolute blast,” said writer Adam Patyk. “The fantastic gameplay and striking graphics are some of the first things you notice about the game, and that played a big role in why we were so excited when Mastiff asked us to get involved in helping to refine the characters and story for Moon.”

The game takes place on the Moon in 2058, and you taker on the role of Major Kane who is a part of the Extra Terrestrial Encounter Organization. He was called to check out the newly built “Lunar Base Alpha” because they found some sort of a hatch pod basically stuck in the Moon. The game us a 1st person shooter, and you can look out for it on the Nintendo Ds in November. READ MORE

If you don’t know what Moon is, well, I will fill you in. Moon is coming out November 18th on the Nintendo Ds. In the game researchers on the Moon find after building a Lunar Base, discover a sealed alien hatch. The game is a 1st person shooter, and it’s from the Mastiff the makers of Dementium The Ward.

We found out about Moon for the Ds months ago, and nothing much else is known. This new trailer shows spacemen/women going down underground on the Moon, and what lies beneath isn’t all that pleasant. The games out September 15th of this year. Check out the video.
