I remember the first time I played Mortal Kombat. I was visiting my cousin when we decided to play this new game he had purchased, that of course being Mortal Kombat. After playing it for hours, me as Scorpion, him Sub-Zero, he looked at me and said, “If you beat me, hold block and press up, up, up.” Needless to say, my gaming life would never be the same.

At MIDNIGHT 12AM PST Machinima will premiere the third episode of Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” web series. Director Kevin Tancharoen confirmed via his twitter account today that tonight’s episode will introduce Johnny Cage, and series co-creator Ed Boon will cameo.

Based on the iconic gaming franchise, Jeri Ryan, (“Star Trek: Voyager”) will reprise her role as the headstrong “Lieutenant Sonya Blade” from the unofficial fan short. She is joined by Michael Jai White (Spawn, Kill Bill, The Dark Knight) as “Major Jackson `Jax’ Briggs” and Darren Shahlavi (300) as the sly and cunning “Kano.”

Kevin Tancharoen who directed and produced the popular, unofficial “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” fan short that garnered over 10 million views worldwide, is bringing the same immersive directing style to this live-action digital new media series. Fans will be able to delve deep into the history of the warriors they know and love including “Sub-Zero” and “Scorpion.”

Are 300 Missions In Mortal Kombat Enough? (Update, Demo Koming!)

Apparently, the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot will include not one, or a dozen, or even a hundred missions. In fact, we can expect a 300 mission long tower challenge that should give us plenty to do long after we’ve grown tired of tearing our opponent’s spine out. But really, when does that ever get dull?

The tower challenges start off simple enough with really basic missions that act as tutorials before getting progressively more difficult. The more difficult missions really test your skills in the form of different versions of familiar foes, removing some of your abilities or even giving your enemies extra abilities.
