Earlier this month, we took a gander at the most anticipated horror games of 2014. We laughed, we cried, we reminisced about what’s shaping up to be a fantastic year to be a horror fan. Almost all of them are practically guaranteed to arrive before the next New Year comes along, and they’re all fine reasons to be excited 2014′s offering of horror games. Keep in mind, it’s only January, so we still have several months worth of still-secret projects left to look forward to hearing from.
I’m already plenty excited for 2014, but as we look to the future, I can’t help but wonder about the games we’ll see in 2015. Read on for my list of eight horror games we (probably) won’t see until 2015!
At the beginning of each new year I like to take a look at the horror games we have to look forward to and thanks to the long awaited arrival of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, 2014 has a lot of horror games that are worth getting excited over. I’ve looked through the games that have been announced — I’m sure there are plenty waiting to be revealed later this year — and found some of the ones that I think need to be on your radar, if they aren’t already.

If you’re craving a scare or two then boy, are you in luck. There’s a wealth of horror games releasing over the next two years that should appeal to every type of horror fan. From big budget action horror games like The Evil Within and Dying Light to psychologically scarring indie releases like Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Outlast, and even a few more experimental horror games, like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and whatever Basement Crawl is all about.
We won’t know which horror games will make an appearance until next week when E3 officially kicks off, but that won’t keep us from voting on what we’d most like to see from the event. After the break you can do just that. Let us know which horror games you’re most anticipated for and if I left something out that you’re particularly excited for, feel free to set me straight in the comments. I can take it.
THE RESULTS ARE IN!
It’s that time of the year again, folks! I hope you aren’t too tired from all the egg nogging, snowman crafting, slay bell jingling, and sloppy mistletoe kissing you undoubtedly put yourself through last month, because we have some voting to do. For the unfamiliar, the FEAR Awards is something we started here at Bloody Disgusting back in 2009 when we realized there are a ton of best and worst games lists and awards, but none that gave much attention to the horror genre. We decided to create this so we could celebrate the many horror (and horror adjacent) games that release every year.
This year we’re doing things a little differently. Every day we’re going to post a category and a batch of nominees for you to vote on, then when the votes are tallied we’ll reveal the results. Today we’re asking which horror game that’s releasing this year has you the most excited — vote after the break!
