The bat sh#t crazy Smith family is back for more down home butchering as Matt Nixon and the demented folks over at IDW are all set to deliver a brand spankin’ new issue of “MOTEL HELL”. The third issue drops on December 1st, but if you make the jump you can get a 6 page preview. Read on for the skinny!
Last July, we first received word that there was a three-part comic book remake of “Motel Hell” in the making that was going to be released by IDW Publishing. The first issue came out in October as part of their MGM Drive-In Theater Series. So naturally, we jumped on the chance to speak with the writer, Matt Nixon. What came of it you ask? Well, to put it simply, an interview, murder, and a fat lady in a dominatrix outfit. (Luckily, the last two have to do with the story, not me.)
If you’re a fan of the ubber campy 1980 Kevin Connor film “MOTEL HELL” then you’ll either be excited or angry over the news that came from IDW Publishing today. This October the publisher will be publishing an all new 3 part comic book based upon the film and its characters as part of their “MGM Drive-In Theater” series. Below you can get all the specs and details.
WRITTEN BY: Matt Nixon
ILLUSTRATIONS BY: Chris Moreno

“Welcome back to America’s favorite cinematic psycho siblings, Vincent & Ida Smith as these two insane farmers recruit some new prospective “crops” for their special garden. A group of wine snobs are flown into to their Napa Valley winery for the time, as in last, of their lives!”
“MIDNITE MOVIES: MOTEL HELL” Drops October 6th From IDW Publishing! (MSRP-$3.99) READ MORE
Farmer Vincent kidnaps unsuspecting travelers and is burying them in his garden. Unfortunately for his victims, they are not dead. He feeds his victims to prepare them for his roadside stand. His motto is: It takes all kinds of critters…to make Farmer Vincents fritters. The movie is gory, but is also a parody of slasher movies like Last House on the Left.
