Everything begins with a (literal) bang and doesn’t concern itself with the threads left over from last month. Instead we’re treated to the reintroduction of a familiar face, only to have it ripped from us within a page and a half. Joe Harris jumps in with an engrossing story, terrific dialogue, and a plot that’s equally dangerous and mysterious. A lot has happened in the eleven years since “The X-Files” has been off the air. Most notable of which is the passing of the colonization date: December 22, 2012. This season propels the series to a current timeline. So it seems skipping this date would be a grave misstep. Since the announcement of X-Files: Season 10 from IDW Publishing, we’ve all been wondering where the series will take off and how Mulder and Scully will fit into a new era. Based on the official solicitation (read it below) it seems that writer Joe Harris plans to throw the agents into a world of new technological threats and government conspiracies. After all, it’s been over a decade since the original series came to an end and the technological advancements we’ve seen since then are astounding. It will be interesting to see how Mulder and Scully adapt to the new world. Also, I have no doubt aliens will be thrown in the mix. READ MORE
