It’s been one of the most epic trilogies in the video game universe. But this chapter in the Mass Effect universe is coming to an end. On March 5th ‘Citadel‘ the final single player Mass Effect 3 DLC will be released. Citadel will having you exploring new areas of the Citadel Space Station and reconnecting with characters from every game in the series, before Shepard’s final send off. Also releasing February 26th for free is the multiplayer ‘Reckoning‘ DLC. With it will come new characters, maps, weapons, and upgrades. Head past the break for new screenshots from both DLCs.
It isn’t difficult to compare the multiplayer offering in the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines to Left 4 Dead — the same comparisons were made for the multiplayer in Dead Space 2 — but they’ve has made it even easier by giving the Xenomorphs abilities any L4D fan is already too familiar with. An alien that spits acid? Sounds familiar. A kamikaze alien that likes to get in your personal bubble so it can explode, showering you in giblets? Yep. How about an alien that’s really big, can take tons of damage, and likes to brute force your unsuspecting ass right into a wall? Colonial Marines has that too. I’m not complaining, because it still looks fun, I only wish it were a little more original. See the multiplayer in action after the break.
I’ve been an avid watcher of the Final Hours Of Tomb Raider video series. Tomb Raider is probably the number 1 game I’m looking forward to, so I’m pretty excited for anything I can watch about it. Well in this latest Final Hours video they show you all about the unexpected multiplayer aspect of the new Tomb Raider. There is an entire team at Eidos Montreal dedicated to the multiplayer so you know it isn’t just a tacked on multiplayer. Check it out past the break!
There are a lot of multiplayer games out there nowadays. It’s even harder to introduce one into the mix without it failing miserably. Far Cry 3′s multiplayer looks pretty fun, but will it be able to stand up to the likes of Halo and Call Of Duty? I truly doubt it, but it could be fun to play while it lasts. Check out the multiplayer video past the break, and look out for Far Cry 3′s release November 30th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
This year will be the 7th year in a row the Halo series will be a part of the FLAG Tournament. The reason for the tournament is to raise money for breast cancer research. To date the tourney has raised $27,000 for breast and cervical cancer research. Last year they raised $5000 and are hoping to shatter it this year. The tourney will run from November 16th through the 18th on Xbox Live in Halo 4. Head past the break for all the details on how you can help.
Capcom recently detailed their plans for the post-release DLC for Resident Evil 6, and it’s nothing but good news if you’re looking forward to the multiplayer features. Among the DLC are three new multiplayer modes — Survivors, Predator, and Siege. There will also be additional maps for Mercenaries to look forward to as well. More details after the break!
Some would say Call Of Duty’s multiplayer has gotten stale. I would never say such a thing, because of the shear amount of people who play the damn game. Though if I were to make such a comment I would say Modern Warfare 3 just didn’t do it for me. Judging by what we have seen so far, and now what many of the top video game sites tell me in the video below I can’t wait to jump into Black Ops II. Obviously being set in the future for once a large amount of doors are open to awesome new vehicles, weapons, locations and more. Check out the Accolades Trailer below, and don’t forget the game is going up again Halo 4 releasing just one week after it on November 13th.
Holy shit, 343 has done it again. Watch the video past the break, and you can witness some flag shanking from the Halo 4 multiplayer. Halo 4 will be out November 6th, and I will forget that I had any sort of a life. And you should too. Screens and video past the break.
Sega and friends recently unveiled a new competitive multiplayer mode in the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines called ‘Escape’, and while it might be lacking in the originality department, it still looks like it’ll be good gory fun. In it, four marines attempt to escape an onslaught of Xenomorphs, four of which are controlled by a team of human players. The Cenomorphs come in a variety of flavors, including the damage-resistant Soldier, the speedy Lurker, and the ranged Spitter. This isn’t the first time a horror game has tried to capture Left 4 Dead’s success–Dead Space 2 made an admirable attempt last year–so I hope Colonial Marines is a little more successful. Check out some new Escape mode gameplay after the break.

There is no doubt that the maps in the last few Call Of Duty multiplayers have gotten stale. The whole “we’re at war” theme has definitely worn out its welcome. That probably explains why Nuketown is so popular. However, the Black Ops II multiplayer looks pretty damn fresh. Taking place in the god damned future, it better. Check it out below, and look out for the game November.
How do you take an already great multiplayer game and make it even greater? Overrun Mode. What separates Overrun from a normal game of chainsaw your friends in half? Classes. Each participating character has a separate class, and with that class comes specific duties. It also means a much easier way to blame your friends for your team losing. But it also means you really have to work together to win. Check out the Overrun Tutorial video below, and the Jack Island level b-roll video past the break.
Mass Effect 3 has been more than generous with the free DLC. And guess what, we’re getting more! This time the fight is being brought to Earth. The DLC is named Earth. Because why not? Since the DLC is free, I find no qualms with buying a shit ton of Veteran Packs. Like usual the pack will include 3 new maps, 6 new characters, new weapons, upgrades, a new in mission objective and more. Head past the break to find out about all the goodies you get, and look out for the free DLC on July 17th in North America, and the 18th in Europe.
I’m friggen excited for Dust 514. The price, 20 bucks. Supposedly a 50 dollar value. Like they tell you in all those infomercials. You want the mini schticky? Buy the regular schticky and we’ll include a million more for free. 343 Industries is taking Halo 4 to a whole new level. That level? Weekly released co-op missions. There will be a weekly released cinematic episode that features 5 playable co-op chapters/missions. The whole point is to move your Halo career forward. You earn points just as you would playing a multiplayer match against other players. Head past the break to check out the Infinity Multiplayer trailer and learn all about it. Halo 4 will be released this November 6th, exclusively on the Xbox 360.
The fans asked, and Epic Games is going to deliver. Class based multiplayer action. What more could you want from a Gears multiplayer? Anya, I need Anya. Head past the break for a video showing off the multiplayer and explaining the classes.
I’m hooked on the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. I don’t know what it is but I love it. Yes, many times I find myself yelling at the tv because the cover system isn’t as perfect as Gears Of War. But it’s still incredibly addicting. With each new multiplayer it gets better and better. New weapons, new characters, and new maps keeps bring me back for more and more. The Rebellion Pack brings the largest change to the entire multiplayer system. 2 major factors in that are new in mission objectives, and new gear slots. Find out more and check out some screenshots past the break. The pack is out in North America on May 29 and in Europe on May 30.
Capcom’s two experiments with a multiplayer-centric Resident Evil haven’t been terribly successful. The first Outbreak sold well, but the reviews weren’t all that great and its sequel sold half as well, essentially killing the series until Operation Raccoon City came along. Unfortunately, ORC doesn’t really share much with the Outbreak series outside of four-player co-op. Read on for what I’d like to see Capcom do with the next multiplayer Resident Evil, whether it ends up being the long-requested Outbreak File #3 or an Operation Raccoon City sequel.
Remember the good old days when eventually Bungie would make their multiplayer maps free? Well guess what, THOSE DAYS ARE OVER. Companies want your money, and they want it bad. You know back when Nintendo and Super Nintendo were around, you could normally pay 60-100 dollars per game. Well, most games now are stuck on a 60 dollar price point. Clearly that isn’t enough. With some games you’re looking to spend at least 100 dollars over the life of the game to get all the DLC. If you have the patience you’re better off waiting for a game of the year edition or for a dramatic price drop. Well, amidst the ashes of all your wasted money, Uncharted developer Naughty Dog and Sony have decided to let you have all of the DLC for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for free. Head past the break for the DLC list.
Dead Space 3 is almost definitely the game EA teased us with earlier this week, and if these new rumors prove true, Isaac Clarke’s next outing could be significantly different from his last. According to a source at IGN, the game could feature two-player co-op, tweaked weapon functions and new player abilities like crouching and evasive moves. Head past the break for more delicious details! READ MORE
If you listened to our latest Podcast you know I’m super into Mass Effect 3‘s multiplayer. So you can only image how excited I am about the newest DLC, The Resurgence Pack. 2 new maps, 6 new characters, weapons, mods, I’m friggen pumped. You can download the DLC is available for download now for the price of “on the house”. Past the break for the trailer, and all sorts of good info.
If you aren’t a Mass Effect buff and suck like me, the video below might help you with the multiplayer. I’ve only dabbled in the Mass Effect world, but I’ve been playing quite a bit of the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer with friends. I’m not so good. I’m getting there, but it’ll take time. There is a lot to learn, and if you haven’t been around for the long haul it’s all going to be new and confusing. So let’s start with the enemies, and how to stay on top.
This is terrible terrible news. Especially for a certain Mr. Adam Dodd, who has been waiting seemingly half of his life for Diablo 3. Via a POST on the official Diablo site, the PvP will not be released with the game. Instead it will be later released in a patch. Yes for some this is the end of the world. But others will realize it’s all for the better.
They’ve stated that they didn’t want to hold back everyone from the campaign and the solo/co-op content since that it practically done. The didn’t feel the multiplayer was up to snuff just yet. Cheers to them for not releasing it incomplete. Past the break for a bit on the multiplayer. READ MORE
I just recently found out about Binary Domain and introduced it to you lovely readers. It takes place about 70 years from now, it had robots and androids, is super futuristic and looks super awesome. Will it be? Well I sure hope so. But the video below shows what looks to be some pretty kick ass squad based multiplayer action. Will it be up to the standard that we’re used to?
We can only hope, but most games that aren’t heavy multiplayer hitters tend to fail in that category. Tomorrow if you aren’t spending your entire day with the one you love, or some skank, you can download the demo for Binary Domain on your Playstation 3. The 15th on your Xbox 360′s. Released on February 28th for the Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE
