In an effort to help prove that the metal community is not filled with mindless, hate-filled, angry men, author/photographer Alexandra Crockett is putting together a photography book entitled Metaldudes Cats Book that showcases some of the most brutal and visionary members of the West coast metal community with their darling, adorable little balls of fur: their cats.
Crockett comments, “Metaldudes Cats Book challenges stereotypes of masculinity and the metal culture. I think we can all agree that cat photos and videos are an integral part of the Internet. Metaldudes Cats Book combines three loves that have a global reach: Kitties, Metal, and Dudes. A love of kitties binds the entire world together, even tough guys who listen to brutal, harsh music.”
Isis, Xasthur, Atriarch, Black Goat, Book of Black Earth, Harassor, Lord Time, Skeletonwitch, King Dude, Morbid Angel, Anhedonist, Thrones, Lightning Swords of Death, Municipal Waste, Holy Grail, Nausea, Exhumed, Phobia, Murder Construct, Cattle Decapitation, and Gypsyhawk are only a few of the bands that have already volunteered to be photographed with their kitties.

Thrash metal legends Anthrax recently announced the shocking news that lead guitarist Rob Caggiano had quit the band, just a month before a heavy touring schedule was set to begin. However, the band also stated that they would not be hosting auditions for a new lead guitarist. The reason for that is now obvious as it has been announced that Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais will be filling in as lead guitarist while the band tours over the next few months.
Scott Ian states, “Jon is a bro and he’s also a total fucking ripper. I’ve worked with him twice before on side projects and he tears it up. I’m excited to have him on my right burning up the stage with Anthrax. 13′s gonna be a good year.”
Donais adds, “I grew up on Anthrax, they’re the thrash scene, they’re one of The Big Four, I’d be crazy to not want to play with them. Initially, Rob called and told me he was leaving the band, and asked if I’d be interested in filling in. Then Scott called me and everything fell into place. Rob and I are using Skype to work on solos and other guitar parts, so he’s being great. I also have to give special thanks to my band – Brian, Matt, Jason and Ed – who have been incredibly supportive and encouraged me to do this.”
You can see all tour dates that Donais will be on below. READ MORE

Thrash metal legends (and one of the Big Four) Anthrax have announced tour dates for the upcoming ‘Metal Alliance’ tour, which you can check out below. The band will play their 1987 album Among The Living in its entirety during the tour. Support will come from Exodus, Municipal Waste, and Holy Grail.
Guitarist Scott Ian comments, “Holy crap am I so excited about this year’s Metal Alliance Tour! It’s been a great year and a half for us since ‘Worship Music’ came out and to cap it off with a Grammy nomination. This is such a perfect lineup. To make this tour even more special, we will be playing our ‘Among The Living’ record in its entirety. I can’t wait to play ‘Horror Of It All’! Come on out and worship with us, my friends. You do not want to miss this. USA on Hell one more time.”

This edition of Twisted Music Video Of The Week is Municipal Waste‘s awesome animated video for “You’re Cut Off”. Recommended by JohnBoggs4, the video is full of gore, violence, zombies, and all sorts of other visual delights! However, due to the some of the sights, I’m gonna label this one NSFW and hope that none of you get in trouble for watching it at work should you decide to do that.
Slave Pit Inc., the guys behind GWAR and other deviant productions, have put together a Kickstarter for a new online show entitled ‘The Blood Vomits‘! My words cannot do it justice, so just read this synopsis to get an idea of what you’re in store for: “Set in a violent medieval world, “The Blood Vomits” tells the tale of Mad Dog, Nails, and their friend, Father Macgregor, as they rape and pillage their way into your hearts.” Wow…..
