Orphaned Land Confirm June Release For New Album

Israeli progressive metal band Orphaned Land has announced that their upcoming sixth studio album All Is One will be released June 25th in N. America (June 24th in Europe) via Century Media Records. This album will be the followup to 2010′s The Neverending Way of ORwarriOR (review).

Singer Kobi Farhi states, “I’ll say it plain and simple – ‘All Is One’ is Orphaned Land’s best album so far, I feel that we took all aspects to a new level – the way we write, arrange, play and produce. We recorded the album in 3 countries (Turkey, Sweden & Israel) and it turned out so strong, we can’t stop listening to it. The album is very rich with more than 40 people participating (singer choirs, many violins, and many traditional instruments too). Our secret in the band was always the fact that unlike many other bands, Orphaned Land doesn’t follow ONE master mind that writes everything, we work in a way that All Is One. We create our music in a perfect blend of synergy and harmony and all the band members are a part of this process, we translate the album’s title and message exactly in the way we work, and we always hope we could give a bit of an inspiration to the people in the tragic Middle Eastern lands. Israel’s ORPHANED LAND pioneered Middle Eastern metal music and the band just completed a highly successful North American stint with Suidakra that included two high profile SXSW performances. Late last year, while in Israel, I was fortunate enough to interview Orphaned Land and then stick around to see them in action at a concert in Tel Aviv. It was a great experience and I walked away feeling very excited for the follow up to the 2004 album, Mabool. And now, The Neverending Way of ORwarriOR is finally out.

The first thing I noticed was the incredible rise in production value. While Mabool was an amazing album that was a musical journey, the sound quality was often a bit painful and piercing. But not on The Neverending Way of ORwarriOR. With Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Opeth, No-Man) behind the mixing board, the overall sound quality rose dramatically. Each instrument is clearly definable and the subtle ambiences are beautifully placed in the mix. READ MORE
