Everyone I’ve known has had a pretty hectic week, between finals, holidays and weather woes…I think we should treat ourselves to some new comics? Crinminal Macabre: Cell 666 is supposed to come out but not confirmed which I really liked, the new fear agent is good so far and the Goon TPB is one of the best Goon stories. New week means new comic releases and here’s some highlights: Dark Horses’ Beast Of Burden #2 and IDW’s Last Resort #3. Both of these series are kinda different in the horror genre but I find suprisingly refreshing. Beasts of Burden follows a group of dogs and the haunted undead hijinx they get in. Last Resort can best be described as a 70′s action/horror movie complete with boobs and blood…not too mention great covers by Darywn Cooke. Full list after the break…

Well we are on week 4 of a 5 week Marvel Zombies run. Marvel has released a new issue every week which is pretty awesome for readers, too bad the story is kinda boring. Here’s hoping the ending is better, but I’ll bet you my liver it’s gonna have a cliffhanger. The Goon has a great trade out, and Hack/Slash and Darkness issues are also out. I was assuming this week there weren’t’ going to be any good horror comics coming out….well I was sorely mistaken. I would suggest a couple titles to pick up this week: North 40 (if this does not become a tv show/movie, Hollywood is even more stupid than I thought), Sweet Tooth (it’s only a buck and it’s creepy good), Last Resort(with must buy covers by Darwyn Cooke, the story is actually pretty good and is very well paced), and Chew(everyone should really be reading this…Period). Also a new Marvel Zombies has come out, but I can’t suggest it since I haven’t read it yet. What are you getting this week?

I’m already pretty exhausted with new comics since the Chicago Comic-con was this weekend…but I must press on. A couple suggestions for this week’s releases are:
Eerie Archives HC Vol 2: Now an Eisner Award winner, Dark Horse’s Archives of Eerie and Creepy are second to none.
Dead at 17: Afterbirth: You might want to look into it before purchasing, but I really dig the lighter story and cartoon like artwork.

Another week has gone by and the list is out for new releases. It is pretty slim on the horror front but the best thing to get would be the Locke and Key Vol 1 Welcome to Lovecraft trade paperback. I really enjoyed the series and I will admit it is much better in trade form…go BUY!

First off, Dark Horse has a double header from their archive series: Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery and Creepy Archives Vol 3. Creepy Archives are some of the best quality archives and the stories and artwork are second to none. The most important one to get is Marvel Zombies 4 #1, after the series 3 won me back I’m very excited to see how this one does. Also Locke and Key Head Games and The Cleaners are 2 others to possibly check out. And for my non horror pick of the week, I would have to go with Doctor Who: The Forgotten TP, anyone who knows me knows I love Doctor Who. The Forgotten is an actual good story and is great for nostalgia fans. What are you getting this week?
