Legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath will be premiering their first single “End Of The Beginning” on…CSI? Yup! Apparently the band was interested in premiering their track on the hit CBS show and executive producer Don McGill readily agreed. The band will be featured on the show as a concert performance attended by several of the show’s characters.
“When we first heard that Black Sabbath was interested in premiering a song on CSI from their first studio album in 35 years, we were all really excited. So many of us are longtime fans,” says McGill.
Black Sabbath will be releasing their new album 13 on June 11th. READ MORE
Swedish NWOBHM-inspired band Ghost have made a new song, “Secular Haze”, available for streaming on this website. You can also stream the song on YouTube. The song comes from their as-of-yet-untitled 2013 follow-up to 2011′s Opus Eponymous.
I’m a big fan of their debut album and I’m really digging “Secular Haze”. I definitely recommend checking it out at one of the above links. READ MORE
Lately, what we’ve been hearing from the Marilyn Manson camp is basically news about how Ginger Fish left and replaced Joey Jordison in Rob Zombie. Just so you know, Chris Vrenna (ex-Nine Inch Nails, composer of American McGee’s Alice) is now the drummer for Marilyn Manson. Okay, back to the topic at hand. Marilyn Manson posted on his Facebook a short video entitled “I Am Among No One (excerpt from an undisclosed song with an unreleased title)”. It’s a bit of a mouthful, eh? Check out the snippet after the jump and let me know what you think. READ MORE
I was so excited about this I had to post it myself. For those who don’t know who Far is, they released their last album in 1998 entitled, Water and Solutions. It was and still is an amazing record. The band broke up in 1999, spinning off into many new bands such as The Revolution Smile, Onelinedrawing, and Gratitude. When I found out they broke up, I was shattered. When you really really love a band and they break up, all you can think is “That’s it. No more new songs.”. It’s kind of devastating really. Far was a major influence for such bands as Thursday, Blink 182, and Funeral For A Friend.
Back in the day Far and Deftones we’re good friends touring together, and if you can search hard enough you’ll find a few songs they did together. I’m not sure if the relationship still stands, but that’d be a tour I would die for. In 2008, Far got together to play some shows. Liking the feeling of playing together, they played some more, and finally decided to try the band thing again. I can’t begin to express the feelings of joy that swept over me. Vagrant Records re-signed Far, and they recorded their 5th studio album, At Night We Live. Please read on!
