Nicole Kidman Wants Her Memory Back In ‘Before I Go To Sleep’

The new thriller, Before I Go To Sleep, hasn’t started shooting yet but it does have a sales poster as it heads into Cannes. Nicole Kidman (To Die For, Eyes Wide Shut) had previously been rumored to be starring in the film as it was being set up – but I’d say either a deal is done or she has a pretty firm attachment agreement or else they wouldn’t be trying to sell it based on her name. The film will be written and directed by Rowan Joffe (who directed Brighton Rock and wrote 28 Days Later along with The American). It’s based on a source novel by S.J. Watson.

The film is, “based on the worldwide bestselling novel about a north London woman who wakes up every morning remembering nothing. Her husband tells her she suffered a trauma and that she dare not leave home. She sneaks off to a doctor who gives her a small digital recorder and urges her to play back her thoughts day after day in hopes of re-integrating her mind. She does. It works. And that’s when she comes to realize that the man sleeping next to her… is not her husband.

Sounds like it could be pretty cool if handled right (then again, that could pretty much be said about anything). Head inside for the sales poster. READ MORE

Super Generic Trailer for Nicolas Cage Thriller ‘Trespass’

Opening in limited theaters and on VOD October 14, below you’ll find the official trailer premiere for Joel Schumacher’s thriller Trespass, starring Nicolas Cage, Nicole Kidman, Ben Mendelsohn, Cam Gigandet and Liana Liberato.

After seeing films like Kidnapped, this little fella doesn’t appear to be so “dangerous” or original — I’m open to wagering that there’s even a scene where Nicole Kidman is “nearly” raped.

Karl Gajdusek wrote the screenplay for Trespass which “centers on a man who has everything — a beautiful wife, a teenage daughter, a lavish estate — and is confronted with the reality of losing it all when he and his family become the victims of a vicious home invasion.

Trespass is the fourth collaboration between Cage and Nu Image/Millennium following Drive Angry, The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and The Wicker Man.

‘Stoker’ To Make Goode Casting Choice

Chan-Wook Park solidified himself as one of the best directors of the last decade with the Vengeance trilogy, along with the pretty great Thirst and I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK. With Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman set to star and brothers Ridley and Tony Scott producing, his English language debut, Stoker, is beginning to look like a star-studded event.

Last we heard, Colin Firth was being courted for the lead male role in the film, which follows a teenage girl who must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle while mourning the death of her father. Variety just got word that Matthew Goode is in talks for the part. I got to admit, I haven’t seen a lot of Goode’s work, but he was spot on as Ozymandias in Watchmen.

The Fox Searchlight production is set to debut sometime in 2012.
