Doesn’t matter what record is your favorite, we’ll be playing something from it. We’re very excited and are working really hard to make sure it’s going to be excellent.”

Norma Jeans Unveils ‘Meridional’ Artwork In Video Form

NORMA JEAN has revealed the cover art for their upcoming fifth album Meridional in a unique way. With an intense, self-generated video that also debuts a snippet of a new song. The clip, which debuted yesterday on AOL’s Noisecreep is now up on the band’s website and You Tube.

“We take a lot of pride in all the art we use,” Norma Jean vocalist Cory Brandan told Noisecreep yesterday. “Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy. This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we’ve ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we’ve ever had. The art was done by Jason Oda of Starvingeyes.com. I’ve been a fan of his work for years, and it was really awesome to have him working with us. The song in this video is a clip from the song ‘The Anthem of the Angry Brides,’ which is track two on the new record. I made this video myself.”

Meridional is set for release on July 13. Norma Jean will tour in support of it on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Norma Jean To Release ‘Meridional’ This July

Fans of Norma Jean won’t have to wait much longer to hear the bands’ fifth album ‘Meridional’ which will be released July 13th on Razor & Tie.  ’Meridional’ revisits the abrasive and chaotic roots of classic Norma Jean while offering fans a dark experimental side – the band stretching out on moody, slow-burn jams.  It is an album that finds the band comfortable in its legacy but progressive and bold in its creativity.

‘Meridional’ was recorded in February 2010 at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta with producer Jeremy Griffith.  The band recorded eleven official tracks for the record as well as a few extra bonus tracks and B-sides.  Vocalist Cory Brandan described ‘Meridional’, “It’s a heavy record, multifaceted with epic sounding, experimental songs, some fast, chaotic songs, and some melodic, commanding interludes.  Any track we didn’t think had reached its utmost sonic prowess was given a second look, revised to be as powerful as possible.”
