We talked about upcoming tours, his thoughts on horror movies and something special The Chariot is doing this year that BD got to hear first! “We will be playing a lot of songs that we haven’t played in a long time and some that have never been played at all, old and new. It will be one of the most eclectic sets we’ve ever played for sure,” said vocalist Cory Brandan. “I think of any headlining tour we’ve done to this point, this is the show to come to if you are a true Norma Jean fan. Doesn’t matter what record is your favorite, we’ll be playing something from it. We’re very excited and are working really hard to make sure it’s going to be excellent.”
But all that doesn’t matter when compared to this tour poster:

NORMA JEAN has revealed the cover art for their upcoming fifth album Meridional in a unique way. With an intense, self-generated video that also debuts a snippet of a new song. The clip, which debuted yesterday on AOL’s Noisecreep is now up on the band’s website and You Tube.
“We take a lot of pride in all the art we use,” Norma Jean vocalist Cory Brandan told Noisecreep yesterday. “Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy. This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we’ve ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we’ve ever had. The art was done by Jason Oda of Starvingeyes.com
. I’ve been a fan of his work for years, and it was really awesome to have him working with us. The song in this video is a clip from the song ‘The Anthem of the Angry Brides,’ which is track two on the new record. I made this video myself.”
Meridional is set for release on July 13. Norma Jean will tour in support of it on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
In This Moment have issued the following as a request to their fans:
”Calling all ITM friends/fans/family
We are putting together a special bonus DVD for our A Star-Crossed Wasteland deluxe edition so we thought it would be cool to hear what our fans have on their minds. We want you to submit any questions you have for Maria Brink (vocals) or Chris Howorth (guitars) about anything from the making of the new CD, our worst band fight, our favorite place to play, what we do on those long bus rides, what brand of make-up Maria uses, really anything you want to ask as long as it is appropriate. We’ll read these questions aloud and answer them, all on tape, all captured on our DVD, so please email us at [email protected]
and include your name and where you live (City/State) so when we film ourselves reading your question, you (and the world) know it’s you.”

Fans of Norma Jean won’t have to wait much longer to hear the bands’ fifth album ‘Meridional’ which will be released July 13th on Razor & Tie. ’Meridional’ revisits the abrasive and chaotic roots of classic Norma Jean while offering fans a dark experimental side – the band stretching out on moody, slow-burn jams. It is an album that finds the band comfortable in its legacy but progressive and bold in its creativity.
‘Meridional’ was recorded in February 2010 at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta with producer Jeremy Griffith. The band recorded eleven official tracks for the record as well as a few extra bonus tracks and B-sides. Vocalist Cory Brandan described ‘Meridional’, “It’s a heavy record, multifaceted with epic sounding, experimental songs, some fast, chaotic songs, and some melodic, commanding interludes. Any track we didn’t think had reached its utmost sonic prowess was given a second look, revised to be as powerful as possible.”
In This Moment are currently at The Wolves Den studio in Las Vegas once again with acclaimed producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch) putting the finishing touches on their much anticipated new album, A Star Crossed Wasteland, which is set for a summer release. The group are documenting the entire studio process and you can check out part 2 of this webisode series now at the link below. Stay tuned for the final installment in the coming weeks.
