Rock band Garbage will be performing their song “I Hate Love” on Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show tonight at 11:35pm EST on NBC. The song comes from their latest album Not Your Kind Of People (review), which came out earlier this year and was the first all new Garbage album in over seven years. Before you get your panties in a bunch and scream that the song doesn’t sound like black metal at all, I’m not talking about the song. I’m saying that the new video for Garbage‘s “Big Bright World” looks like it has a lot of black metal video influences. It features handheld, shaky shots of old cemeteries, catacomb-esque tunnels, artistic shots of hour glasses with the time running out… I swear, director Julie Orser must be a fan of black metal. The news that Garbage was returning this year with a new album sent fans into a frenzy. After all, it had been seven years since their last studio album, Bleed Like Me. Now, with Not Your Kind Of People coming out on May 15th, the band has decided to award those of us who were alone on Valentines Day with a snippet of a song entitled I Hate Love. It took me a listen or two but I’m definitely digging it. Check it out below!
