Korn’s New Video Makes Absolutely No Sense

korncliescreencap Korns New Video Makes Absolutely No Sense
Korn has released Chaos Lives In Everything, which comes off their latest album The Path of Totality, as their latest music video. The video sets up the conflict when a skateboarder slams into a businessman who refuses to let it go. A chase ensues and suddenly the businessman is confronted by not one, not two, but SIX skateboarders. After a bit of roughhousing, the businessman grabs a skateboard, tries to break it on the ground, and then suddenly is skating with the kids. End video.
First of all, that makes absolutely no sense. What is that supposed to even mean? That businessmen need to lighten up? How about a compromise Korn? How about the businessman eases back a bit, maybe loosens his tie, IF those skateboarders stop acting like complete dicks. What say you? Think that can be worked out?
Oh, and I can’t tell you how sick I am of seeing videos use the whole “we’re gonna show this at normal speed BAM! SLOW MOTION! Okay, back into normal speeBAM! SLOW MOTION AGAIN! Now quick! Normal-SLOW-norm-SLOW-nor-SLOW SLOW SLOW!!!” Seriously, stop now.

Korn Announces Short US Tour

 Korn Announces Short US Tour
Korn has announced a short string of tour dates as a second leg in support of their latest album The Path Of Totality. The tour only has eight stops but manages to go nearly shore to shore (sorry East coast). Support on three dates will come from Kill The Noise while vocalist Jonathan Davis will be debuting his own DJ set under the moniker J Devil.
While I haven’t heard the album, people keep telling me that it’s actually pretty enjoyable. What say you readers? Who’s listened to it and what are your thoughts?

Some New Music Videos For You From Korn And The Devil Wears Prada

A couple of new music videos have hit the web today that I wanted to share with you. The first is Born To Lose from The Devil Wears Prada. Visually, it’s actually really cool. I dug the tone and atmosphere and the song worked quite well with the imagery.

The second video we’ve got here is an actual official video for Korn‘s Get Up. Personally, I find any video of a band rocking out in front of a crowd to be boring, generic and plain. Honestly, I was hoping for something a bit more visually stimulating, especially considering that this is a reinvented Korn sound. Oh, and for a song that says “Feat. Skrillex“, I’d think they’d somehow get him into the video. Perhaps I’m asking too much.
Check out the videos afte the jump!

Korn Releasing New Album This December

Korn has announced that they will be releasing a new album, The Path To Totality, on December 6th. They’ll also be hitting the road in November to promote the upcoming release. The album will apparently be completely like the track they released earlier this summer, Get Up (which featured Skrillex), in that Korn has worked with various dubstep and electronic musicians on each track of the album.

Some song titles released are Narcissistic Cannibal, Burn the Obedient, Illuminati, Kill Mercy Within, and Chaos Lives In Everything. The album will feature appearances by electronic musicians such as Datsik, Noisia, Excision, Kill The Noise, and more.
Check after the jump for tour dates.

Check Out Limp Bizkit’s ‘Combat Jazz’ Featuring Raekwon

The Japanese, lucky people that they are, are going to be getting a deluxe edition of Limp Bizkit‘s Gold Cobra (review here), which will feature extra tracks, including the Mathematics produced Combat Jazz featuring Raekwon. No joke, it’s pretty good stuff. As Some Kind Of Awesome put it, it’s got a very Wu-Tang feel about it. Check it out after the jump and let me know your thoughts! READ MORE

Album Review: Limp Bizkit ‘Gold Cobra’

There are a handful of bands that incite such a violent reaction as Limp Bizkit. There’s Nickelback, Insane Clown Posse, U2 and that’s all I can really think of off the top of my head. These bands are generally reviled or mocked endlessly and, for some reason, are wildly successful. Nickelback consistently puts out platinum selling albums, ICP continues to somehow afford the ability to make movies and U2 manages to put out the same sounding album over and over again with great success. As for Limp Bizkit, people mock the ever-living hell out of them and they laugh it off all the way to the bank. So, how does the band fare on Gold Cobra, their latest endeavor? Well, check out after the jump for the answer.

Korn To Write Theme Song To Silent Hill: Downpour

So, it was announced at E3 that nu-metal band Korn is going to be writing the theme song for Silent Hill: Downpour. I’m a huge fan of Akira Yamaoka’s work and I’m a strong believer that Daniel Licht (exclusive interview here) can not only do Akira’s work justice, but also leave his own unique musical style in the series. However, Korn doing a theme song??? I’m seriously skeptical about this. And I’m not the only one: turns out fans of the series have put together an online petition (humorously named ‘Kornami’) to stop this theme song from happening. What are your thoughts?

Check after the jump for an interview with Daniel Licht at E3.

Limp Bizkit Have Made It Official: Gold Cobra Comes Out June 7th

So, Fred Durst hit Twitter again and spilled the beans about the official release date for Limp Bizkit‘s upcoming album ‘Gold Cobra’. Apparently, we can expect it to come out June 7th, though again, I’ll believe it when I see it. Hopefully they got pissed when they recorded the album and it’s fully of songs of the heavy persuasion.

Limp Bizkit’s Aiming For A Summer Release For ‘Gold Cobra’

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst snuck in via Twitter a tentative release date of June 7th for the new LB album, ‘Gold Cobra’. I’m somewhat skeptical, but if it’s true, then I’m pretty eager to hear the new stuff. Let’s be honest guys, the music of Limp Bizkit is actually pretty sweet. Don’t believe me? Just listen to Boiler, that song kicks ass! Plus, Wes Borland is a huge horror fan, so it’s always cool to support someone in the community.

Had Enough ‘Birdemic’? I Thought Not!

Remember that ‘Birdemic’ trailer that had some heavy nu-metal/industrial music playing towards the second half? No? Well watch it at the link above to refresh your memory! Anyways, that song was penned by nu-metal band Chamber of Pudd and is entitled, you guessed it, ‘Birdemic (This Is)’. The video definitely has that ‘Birdemic’ quality about it, so if you’re into that kind of thing, this is right up your alley.

Chamber of Pudd – Birdemic (This Is) from Severin Films on Vimeo.

Here’s a quote from singer/songwriter King Pudd: ”The film really resonated with me. I had a girlfriend who was my world who passed away… she was dead to me anyway… the details are too painful to rehash in my warped mind but she had a bird. I took the bird after she died. Cared for it. But it was really fucking mean. And scared me. But I could relate with me locked in my cage of rage and that bird locked in a cage of cage in a fucking rage. We were mirror images in a fucked up world.”
Don’t forget to pre-order your copy of ‘Birdemic’, coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray on Feb. 22nd.
