Announced this morning, Dark Horse Comics in association with Rob Reger and Mariah Huehner are bringing back Emily the Strange for a new miniseries. Just in time for the New York Comic-Con, Warner Bros. has released a new poster for Guillermo del Toro’s epic sci-fi adventure Pacific Rim, which will be converted into 3D for its July 12, 2013 release.
The film is set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace. Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Robert Kazinsky, Ron Perlman, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Diego Klattenhoff and Brad William Henke all star.
“When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. Bloody Disgusting has learned that John Suits’ The Scribbler will be promoted at this weekend’s New York Comic-Con.
Taking place Friday, October 12 from 7:45-8:45pm, the panel presentation (at Jacob Javits Center, Hall 1A2 655 West 34 Street, NY, NY 1000) will be hosted by stars Katie Cassidy (“Arrow”) and Gina Gershon (Killer Joe), Director John Suits, and Producer Gabriel Cowan, where they’ll unveil the film’s first teaser trailer. “‘The Scribbler’, based on the graphic novel, concerns Suki (Cassidy), a young woman confronting her destructive mental illness using “The Siamese Burn”, an experimental machine designed to eliminate multiple personalities. In another big announcement from Dynamite Entertainment, Fred Van Lente (“Marvel Zombies”) has just signed on board to create a zombie miniseries in 2013. Van Lente describes the series as saying, “Think of this as World War Z with jokes and a B drive-in movie Grindhouse sensibility. At the heart of our story is a group of message-board experts”. Shakespearian fans rejoice, Canadian writing duo Anthony Del Col and Connor McCreery are back with more of the IDW epic, Kill Shakespeare. The new miniseries, titled “Tide of Blood”, will consist of five issues and is set to begin in February of 2013.
The book picks up where it left off as Hamlet, Juliet, Othello and Romeo are up against Prospero who is looking to destroy everything. More inside. READ MORE

We’ve now scored a high resolution look at that new Texas Chainsaw 3D poster that’ll be on display at the New York Comic-Con this coming weekend.
Texas Chainsaw 3D has been rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.” It was almost NC-17 and has footage from Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original post converted to 3-D. Evan Saathoff dissected the trailer.
In theaters January 4, 2013, the sequel is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star.
The seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Hooper’s classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. Marvel announced today at NYCC that in the wake of “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe”, Cullen Bunn is to return to the Merc with a Mouth alongside Matteo Lolli for a new Deadpool mini-series, “Deadpool Killustrated”. Deadpool will be taking on figures in literary classics such as Moby Dick. READ MORE
Dynamite has already made a few announcements and the show has barely begun yet. The latest addition to their lineup comes in the form of the hit NBC TV series, Grimm. The publisher will produce several new series and graphic novels in association with NBC sometime in 2013.
The show is cross somewhere between “Fables” and Supernatural, following Detective Nick Burkhardt who deals with a bunch of mythological forces and cases. The show blends elements of horror and comedy and has become one of NBC’s biggest number getters. No word on any creative teams yet. READ MORE
