Oceano Release Lyric Video For “Slow Murder”: Working On New Album

Chicago based metal band Oceano have announced that they are working on their third studio album Incisions, which is the follow up to 2010′s Contagion. The album will be released later this year via Earache Records.

Guitarist Nick Conser comments, “The new Oceano comes out today. Get ready for it. We’re starting a new chapter in this band. We’re not selling out. We’re not getting soft. We’re getting more fucked up and bringing more hate. And if you want us to change, then you’re gonna be disappointed. We’re not gonna replicate any album that we’ve ever released. We’re going to get more evil than anything you’ve heard from this band. Today will show the start of how hateful this record is gonna be.

The band has released a lyric video for a new song entitled “Slow Murder”, which you can watch below. READ MORE

Scion A/V Presents FREE Earache Label Showcase With Oceano, Vektor, Bonded By Blood, And White Wizzard

Scion A/V Metal is teaming up with Earache Records for a free showcase on Jan. 12th, 2013 at 1pm PST in Pomono, CA. The showcase will be headlined by Oceano with support coming from Vektor, Bonded By Blood, and White Wizzard. To RSVP, click here.

David DiSanto of Vektor said, “We’re real stoked to be a part of this event. 25 years is longer than most of us have been on Earth! Congrats to Earache and thank you to Scion for all of the support for the show. See you sleazoids there!“.

Bonded by Blood’s Carlos Relgado adds, “We are excited to say that we are going to be a part of this year’s Earache showcase, along with Scion who have been super cool and have gone out of their way to support us and the scene. We just couldn’t be more grateful for them to put on shows like this – down the street from where we rehearse none the less! The Glass House in Pomona has always been one of the best known (yet also sort of unknown) places to play. In the past couple of years or so they have not been having very many metal shows. We are hoping to change that.

We look forward to seeing a lot of friends and family and we can’t wait to share the stage once again with great friends such as Vektor and White Wizzard. Cheers!READ MORE

Despised Icon Talk About Upcoming Six Shows That End Their Career

Canadian metal act Despised Icon have decided to throw in the towel and disband. However, instead of canceling their world tour plans, they decided to stick it out, giving fans a last opportunity to see them perform. Here are some words from Alex Erian:

“It’’s been a while already since we made THE announcement and I know some of you are probably saying ‘WTF, these guys still aren’t done yet?!’ Well, instead of canceling the tours we had in the works at the time, we figured it’’d be a good opportunity to play in our favourite cities, tour in a few countries we had never visited before and rock out with you guys for the last time.
“After touring in 24 countries in the last 6 months, we’’re finally back home and getting ready to play our last Quebec and Ontario shows next week.  This final world tour was simply amazing and since this is the last time we check-in with you guys, I just want to sincerely thank you all once again for all your help and support.  We’’ve had some good fucking times together!
“For those who were planning on coming to our final Montreal shows, we have a few surprises for you.  The original Despised Icon line-up (2002-2006) will make its appearance and play a few songs from the first 2 albums!  We’re also happy to announce that our brothers in Ion Dissonance and Beneath The Massacre will be supporting their new records for the first time at home and ABACABB will also be playing one of their last shows ever with us.  Our homies in The Acacia Strain, Oceano and Mychildren Mybride will also be part of the event.  It’s gonna be epic.  Bandeapart.ca will film and host the entire last set on their website for free so make sure you demonstrate how we do things in MTL!  See you soon!”
