[San Diego Comic-Con '12] New ‘The Devil’s Carnival’ Clip Stings, Sing YOUR Version & Join The Tour!

The Devil’s Carnival – the latest musical from Darren Lynn Bousman (Repo: The Genetic Opera, Saw 2-4, Mother’s Day) is headed back out on the road after a successful 40 date tour earlier this year. It all kicks off at 11:59PM on July 13th during the San Diego Comic-Con at the Gaslamp Theatre (tickets here)! We attended the premiere of the event back in April and you are welcome to read our positive recap.

But before the Devil continues his road show, Bloody Disgusting has landed an exclusive clip that ties into a pretty cool promotion. In this scene, Lucifer (Zdunich) reads the classic fable “The Scorpion and the Frog” as the slick and charming Scorpion (Marc Senter) croons “Trust Me” to his gullible frog gal, Tamara (Jessica Lowndes). Aided by the lovely Painted Doll (Emilie Autumn), The Scorpion uses a knife-thrower’s deadly accuracy to strike love into Tamara’s heart. But once she takes his bait, this Lothario can’t help but reveal his true, venomous nature.

In short, creators Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich want to hear your cover of “Trust Me”, a lethal lullaby from their new musical movie. The most infernally inspired videos will be screened in front of thousands on The Devil’s Carnival 24-City EncoreTour! (Tickets for all shows are available here.)

In the film, sinners are invited to a theme park where they endure the repetition of their transgressions. What chances do a conniving kleptomaniac, a gullible teenager, and an obsessed father stand when facing their own moral failings? Now available on iTunes, Amazon, and the official The Devil’s Carnival website is the official soundtrack for the film. Featuring the voices of Emilie Autumn, Ogre (Skinny Puppy), Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch), and many more, this soundtrack promises to be a delight for fans of a darker, more macabre musical theater experience.

Hitting the road on April 5th, The Devil’s Carnival is a 55-minute musical that shows three sinners facing their transgressions in a carnival run by, yup, you guessed it, the Devil. The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-III-IV).

Film writer Terrence Zdunich and Saar Hendelman handle the lyrics and music, which sees appearances from Ogre (Skinny Puppy), Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch), Emilie Autumn, and many, many more. The soundtrack is coming out April 3rd. You can hear samples of the entire soundtrack and preorder it here.

Skinny Puppy‘s Ogre and Mark Walk are preparing to unleash the fourth ohGr studio album, ‘Undeveloped‘, on May 10th. Ogre has stated that ‘Undeveloped‘ has a “soft theme of distorted sexuality”.
