The pic will follow a crew of astronauts on the Martian surface, who discover evidence of bacterial life. It won’t greatly surprise you that things go downhill from there, and the explorers start to be killed off.

LONG: Follows the story of an astronaut crew on Mars on the verge of a major breakthrough having collected rock specimens that reveal microscopic evidence of life.

In their last hours on the planet, two astronauts go back to a cavernous valley on the surface of Mars to collect further evidence for their discovery, but a routine excavation turns deadly when one of them falls to his death and his body is taken as a host and re-animated by the very life form they sought to discover.

Tom Ward is a young boy training to be an exorcist in the 1700′s and must learn how to exorcise ghosts, contain witches, and bind boggarts. Trouble begins when he’s tricked into releasing the most evil witch in the world. Jeff Bridges has signed on to star as an exorcist.

The Seventh Son was formerly known as The Spook’s Apprentice and is part of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s young adult series “The Last Apprentice.” It is based on the first book in the trilogy “The Wardstone Chronicles.”

OFFICIAL: In a time long past, an evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of the supernatural and humankind once more. Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore) centuries ago. But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarnation, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.

In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return. USA Today has landed the first ever images from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ fantasy action adventure Seventh Son. Irish helmer Ruairi Robinson – a renowned commercial director – has just started shooting his first feature film The Last Days on Mars, based on a script by Clive Dawson. Filming will take place in Jordan and at Elstree Studios in the UK.

The film stars Liev Schreiber (Scream 2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) alongside Olivia Williams (pictured above;The Sixth Sense, Rushmore), Romola Garai (One Day, Atonement), Elias Koteas (Shutter Island, Zodiac), Tom Cullen (Weekend), Goran Kostic (In the Land of Blood and Honey, Taken) and Johnny Harris (Snow White and the Huntsman).

The thriller, which was previously titled The Animators, “follows the story of an astronaut crew on Mars on the verge of a major breakthrough having collected rock specimens that reveal microscopic evidence of life.

Warner Bros.’ Exorcism Adventure Flick ‘Seventh Son’ Begins Filming

Principal photography is finally under way on Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ fantasy action adventure Seventh Son. Shooting began on March 19th under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Sergei Bodrov. As previously reported, Seventh Son stars Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, Oscar nominee Julianne Moore, and Ben Barnes. The film’s international cast also includes Alicia Vikander, Antje Traue, Olivia Williams and Kit Harington.

Bodrov is directing the film from a screenplay by Matt Greenberg, Charles Leavitt and Steve Knight, based on the book The Spook’s Apprentice by Joseph Delaney. Here’s the film’s official synopsis as provided by Warners.

British actress Olivia Williams (The Ghost Writer, The Sixth Sense, An Education) will star opposite Ben Barnes, Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary’s The Seventh Son, reports Deadline.

“The film is an adaptation of a series of young adult books about a teen who learns the art of wizardry after discovering that he is the seventh son of a seventh son.” It follows Tom Ward, a young boy training to be an exorcist in the 1700′s and must learn how to exorcise ghosts, contain witches, and bind boggarts.
