The slasher is being pegged as The Strangers on a college campus. AFM: With the rest of the campus home for the Thanksgiving holiday, Justine and a few of her friends spend the weekend in their college dormitory: studying, relaxing and blissfully unaware of the terror that is about to unfold outside in the cold. Suddenly, confronted by a gang of violent outcasts, Justine’s quiet long weekend becomes one long lesson in survival as her and her classmates are terrorized in increasingly bizarre and brutal ways, leaving it up to her to figure out who her attackers are…and if they can be stopped.

Alternate: Described as a Rosemary’s Baby type thriller, the story follows a girl who is alone on campus over the Thanksgiving break when a random encounter with a gang of violent outcasts leads them to target her as their next victim. To survive, she must conquer her deepest fears to outwit them and fight back.

Twilight and Apparition star Ashley Greene (pictured) is in talks to topline Dimension Films’ campus slasher Satanic, the project formerly known as Kristy, TheWrap reports.

Donkey Punch‘s Olly Blackburn directs with Haley Bennett also attached to star.

Described as a Rosemary’s Baby type thriller, here’s the official synopsis: “With the rest of the campus home for the Thanksgiving holiday, Justine and a few of her friends spend the weekend in their college dormitory: studying, relaxing and blissfully unaware of the terror that is about to unfold outside in the cold. Dimension Films is selling their campus slasher Kristy as “Satanic” at the ongoing AFM. It’s unclear what the domestic title will be at this point in time. Check out some art inside.

New Director For Dimension’s ‘Strangers’-esque Slasher ‘Kristy’

We’ve received word that Donkey Punch director Olly Blackburn is the latest name attached to Dimension Films’ long-gestured The Strangers-esque slasher Kristy, which takes place on a college campus. He replaces Gary Fleder.

Anthony Jaswinski penned the script that “Follows a college coed who stays in her dorm during Thanksgiving and is terrorized by four masked assailants on the empty campus — the killers are up against far more than they bargained for.” Scott Rosenberg is still rewriting the script.

As we previously reported, Dimension has set their sights on Emma Watson for the lead role, although we don’t put much behind this anymore.

David M. Krischner and Corey Sienga produce. Matthew Stein executive produces.
