Ouya Console Coming To Retail On June 4 For $99

The PlayStation and next Xbox may be grabbing most of the headlines right now, but the Ouya — the crowdfunded Android console that raised an impressive $8.5 million on Kickstarter last summer — is arriving before both. The console will cost a cool $99.99 and come first to Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Target. The console will bring with it a rather large launch lineup that includes 104 games, as well as entertainment apps like XBMC and Flixter.

The First Batch Of Ouya Consoles Will Ship To Developers At The End Of The Month

With the Wii U out now and the next Xbox coming as early as next year, it’s easy to forget about the fourth new console that’s on the way: the Ouya. The console’s Kickstarter raised close to $9 million, transforming an ambitious experiment into a full-blown next-gen console. Robotoki’s ‘Human Element’ Could Be The Next Big Zombie Game, Episodic Prequel Coming Next Year

I won’t go making any proclamations about whether or not Human Element will redefine the genre, because we won’t see it until 2015, but when it comes to ambitious titles, this game stands is trying its damnedest to stand above the rest. For the unfamiliar, Human Element is an upcoming zombie game that takes place nearly four decades after the apocalypse. It’s still very early in development, having only begun pre-production this April, but developer Robotoki already has big plans for the title, including a single player mode, co-op, and some sort of multiplayer component. Despite a project with a release date that’s set pretty far into the future, Robotoki is also hard at work on an episodic prequel to the game that will be released on the open-source, Android-powered Ouya console. More after the break.
