Ozzy Osbourne Injured In Home Fire

Metal’s very own Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne was injured when a small fire broke out in his house. Apparently, a candle that wife Sharon Osbourne had left burning through the night exploded the glass vase it was in. Ozzy, who recently had surgery on his hand, tried to air the room while Sharon poured water on the flames. However, the fire was oil based, so the water simply spread the fire and Ozzy was injured during the spread, suffering singed hair and hurting his recently operated hand. Firefighters were called and put out the blaze without any issue.

Sharon described the entire ordeal on her show The Talk. You can read her description below. READ MORE

Lordi To Release New Album ‘To Beast Or Not To Beast’

Finnish hard rockers Lordi have announced that they will be releasing a new album entitled To Beast Or Not To Beast on March 19th via The End Records. The album was recorded at WireWorld Studio in Nashville, TN with producer Michael Wagner (Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Skid Row, Megadeth). This album will be the debut for new members Halla on keys and Mana on drums.

Mr. Lordi states, “The road to this album has truly been paved by hardships. However, the new line-up of the band has given us new and fresh touch and an energetic edge to the recording process, and to the album itself.

The album cover painting is actually a part of a larger picture. The original artwork had this vintage- styled lady holding a horned skull, which, however, was not the main point of the art piece. There was something not quite right with the setting, so I made experiments with various versions and framings. Album title was Upgradead at that point in time, and the painting was done with that title in mind.

”But now, with a changed concept of the artwork, the title did not seem to fit anymore. We did not consider it an A-class name either. Our guitarist Amen came up with the final title, which we felt suitable and perfect both for the cover artwork and the album.

Black Sabbath Currently In Studio Recording New Album

SiriusXM Liquid Metal DJ Jose Mangin was recently able to head into Shangri La Studios in Malibu, CA to catch up with Black Sabbath on their upcoming album, which will be the first studio release from them in over 33 years. It has been confirmed that the band has written 15 songs, 12 of which will appear on the final record (the other three will most likely be used as deluxe edition bonus tracks). One song title has been confirmed as “God Is Dead” (Really? Really??).

The guitars (and most likely drums) were laid down earlier this year in England, allowing singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler to record their parts in five-song increments with producer Rick Rubin. Butler is currently writing lyrics while Ozzy is laying down vocals.

Alright Sabbath fans, what are your thoughts? Are you excited for a new Black Sabbath album or do you think 33 years is too long for the magic to still be there? READ MORE

Black Sabbath Talk New Album

In a recent video interview with NME, Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne discussed the future of the reunited band, including dropping the news that the band has recorded 15 new songs for an upcoming album. Both bassist Geezer Butler and guitarist Tony Iommi expanded upon the creative process, saying that producer Rick Rubin put on their first album for them and told them to imagine it was 1969. He followed that up by asking, “What would you do next?” Iommi said that this definitely influenced the sound of the new material, saying that “…it’s taken on the flavor of the old stuff…but with a different look to it.”

However, the Black Sabbath reunion is not necessarily as complete as most fans would like. Drummer Bill Ward has officially pulled out of the reunion, citing incredible difficulties with the Black Sabbath management as the issue. You can read his statement here.

Alright Black Sabbath fans, chime in here. Do you think Rick Rubin has helped the band reach a place where musical magic might happen or are we gonna get a lackluster release? READ MORE
