[Exclusive] Preview: ‘I, Vampire Vol. 2: Rise Of The Vampires’

We’ve been huge advocates for Joshua Hale Fialkov and Andrea Sorrentino’s I, Vampire since the beginning of the New 52. Fialkov proved that vampires have a place in the DC Universe, brilliantly showcasing how various superheroes would react to bloodsuckers. “I, Vampire Vol. 2: Rise Of The Vampires” hit shops and book stores yesterday, and it’s well worth your time (see our review here). Below, you can check out an exclusive preview, courtesy of your pals at DC Comics. READ MORE

‘Hellblazer’ #300 Says Cheers To Past Creators

Bleeding Cool caught this one early. In the pages of “Hellblazer” #300 (the final issue), there is a bar scene where the bottles that line the walls are packed with the names of creators who have worked on “Hellblazer” throughout the years. I nice little tribute. See the full image below. READ MORE

EXCLUSIVE: Justice League Dark #6 Preview

When the New 52 were announced, one of the most enigmatic titles of the load was Justice League Dark. It was a complete mystery as to how such misfit, lone-wolf style, heroes were going to band together to form a functioning team. With the first arc in the bag it’s become certain that this is a team the DCU needs, they offer a break from the standard hero books, they offer a glimpse into a dark, and insanely entertaining world.

Then again, it’s hard to go wrong when a series stars Deadman, Constatine, Zatanna, and Shade. Milligan has been killing the writing, while Janin’s artwork perfectly compliments the haunting tones of the script. If you haven’t been reading this bad boy, now is the perfect spot to hop on board. Check out the Bloody-disgusting exclusive 4-page preview of Justice League Dark #6 courtesy of your friends at DC Comics. Read on for the skinny…

OMFG: Jeff Lemire To Take Over On ‘Justice League Dark’

DC announced today that Eisner-winning Jeff Lemire will be taking over for Peter Milligan on Justice League Dark starting at issue #9. I know professional journalism is supposed to be unbiased, but we all know it isn’t, and I cannot contain my excitement for this news. I could not think of anyone I would rather crafting this title. Jeff Lemire has been absolutely killing every book he lays his pen to, and now he gets a chance to rework some more major Vertigo icons. Lemire has said that this is his “dream gig at DC”, and given his passion for JLD characters, I have no doubt this will become an even more incredible series. Following his thriving success on Animal Man, Lemire now hopes to do the same with the gang of misfit heroes. Check below for the release details.

UPDATE: It was announced that Peter Milligan will be writing Stormwatch also starting at issue #9, after his leave on JL Dark.

UPDATE 2: Jeff Lemire Will be leaving his post on Franeknstein, and will be replaced by Matt Kindt, another very talented writer.

Hellblazer Spends ‘Another Season In Hell’

This month Hellblazer welcomes new colorist, Brian Buccellato, on board to team up with the already brilliant combination of Milligan and Camuncoli. It’s like a match made in heaven. Issue #287 tosses Johnny boy into “Another Season In Hell” for a brand new arc. Constantine is no stranger to the fiery abyss we call hell, but as you can see from the preview art, he doesn’t look too thrilled to be back. Check the full two-page spread preview art below. GRAPHIC CONTENT PICK OF THE WEEK: Lonmonster – ‘Justice League Dark’ #1

Milligan has gained quite the loyal fan base with his work on the ‘Hellblazer’ hero, John Constantine, over at Vertigo. Now Milligan spreads his seed into a totally different universe, placing an altered version of Constantine on a team of misfits. This strange new team, known as ‘Justice League Dark’, serves to deal with the supernatural business that the regular heroes just can’t handle. The team is comprised of some of the most lovable, albeit minor, characters in the DCU. Aside from Constantine, the JLD team includes of Deadman, Mindwarp, Madame Xanadu, Shade the Changing Man, Enchantress, and Zatanna. With such an incredible cast of supernatural characters, JLD looks to win over the hearts of horror fans. Read on for the skinny…
