The final episode of Season 3 of “The Walking Dead”, “Welcome to the Tombs,” aired back in March. But AMC is just now releasing a batch of photos from behind the scenes of the season, and the focus seems to be on taking a peek behind the curtain of that last installment. If you’re killing time unti Season 4 starts, these 16 images should satiate you for a bit.
“In the third season, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his fellow survivors continue to seek refuge in a desolate and post-apocalyptic world and soon discover that there are greater forces to fear than just the walking dead. The struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 3 also introduced new characters, including the Governor (David Morrissey) and fan-favorite Michonne (Danai Gurira), along with her zombie pets.”
The show is currently filming its fourth season. READ MORE
Roadside Attractions has released some gory photos of isopod victims from Barry Levinson’s eco-horror The Bay. The found-footage horror was originally to be released via Lionsgate, but will now hit theaters November 2 from Roadside. Interestingly enough, isopods are actually real! They eat a creature’s (fish, whales even) tongue and sit there in place of it absorbing all of the incoming food. More on that here!
Starring Will Rogers, Steven Kunken, Kether Donohue, Frank Deal, Christopher Denham and Kristin Connelly, “Two million fish washed ashore. One thousand blackbirds dropped from the sky. On July 4, 2009 a deadly menace swept through the quaint seaside town of Claridge, Maryland, but the harrowing story of what happened that Independence Day has never been told–until now. From Oscar(R)-winning director Barry Levinson and the producers of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes this nerve-shredding tale of a small town plunged into absolute terror. The authorities believed they had buried the truth about the tragedy that claimed over 700 human lives. Now, three years later, a reporter has emerged with footage revealing the cover-up and an unimaginable killer: a mysterious parasitic outbreak. Told from the perspective of those who were there and saw what happened, The Bay unfolds over 24 hours though people’s iPhones, Androids, 911 calls, webcams, and whatever else could be used to document the nightmare in Claridge.”

Now filming in Toronto, Canada is Sony Screen Gems’ remake of Carrie, which has Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) in the director’s chair.
Last week we shared the first pics, which featured Chloe Moretz in one of Carrie‘s most iconic moments as well as a look at Julianne Moore in character as Margaret White. Now we have some new on set images via Just Jared that show Carrie before her blood drenching and then headed out in her rampage covered in the stuff.
The film also stars Judy Greer (The Descendants), Alex Russell (Chronicle), Gabriella Wilde and Portia Doubleday. Carrie tells the supernatural tale of a telekinetic teenage girl tormented by her peers. “The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine, is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter, Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.” Brian De Palma’s 1976 film version of Carrie earned Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie.

Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon’s The Cabin in the Woods is, I’m sure you’ve heard by now, a remarkable film. It’s fun, witty, gory, surprising and downright inspiring. Best of all, it doesn’t have to trade in its bona fides as a horror film to accomplish all of this. It’s 100% horror and 50% everything else.
When I sat down with Goddard last week in an office in Hollywood it was hard to stick strictly to spoiler-free terrain. Pretty soon, I gave up completely. After all – I had 30 minutes to talk about one of my favorite films of the year with its co-writer and director. I was gonna talk about everything.
Which is why I’ve broken the interview into two parts. The one you’ll find below is more or less spoiler free – which is to say it contains less spoilers than the film’s trailers. Look for the second half of this interview the week after the film’s release on April 13th. Do me a favor and go see the movie before you read that second part.
Meanwhile, it’s reasonably safe to head below and check out the first portion of our chat. READ MORE
While other sites keep posting images of streets and cars, Bloody Disgusting’s ‘djblack1313′ tipped us off to some good imagery from the set of Paramount Pictures’ World War Z, now filming in Glasgow.
The below image, courtesy of Metro UK, features your first clear look at what the undead will look like in the big screen adaptation of Max Brooks’ novella. The article also details how star Brad Pitt turned real-life hero when he saved a woman from being crushed during a chaotic crowd scene which saw zombies on the warpath.
A second article over at Daily Record features even more behind-the-scenes stills, along with an interview with creator Max Brooks.
Marc Forster is directing for December 21, 2012 release. “The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.”
Update: The site Fan Pop has a slew of images of the Collinwood Manor from Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, which stars Johnny Depp, Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Cloe Moretz, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Thomas McDonell, Gulliver McGrath. Collinwood Manor is where Barnabas Collins (played by Depp) resides. It’ll arrive in theaters May 11, 2012 from Warner Bros. Pictures.
Paramount Pictures’ zombie-apocalypse thriller, World War Z is currently lensing in Malta where the Daily Mail has been sneaking around nabbing behind-the-scenes photos. While a bunch of sites posted images of star Brad Pitt arriving at an airport (I’ll never understand why), today the site scored a look at a bunch of extras as the undead. Now we’re talking! Click the link above for all of the pics.
Marc Forster is behind the camera with Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos and James Badge Dale starring. The film is “a sober telling of the aftermath of a war fought against a legion of humans who were inflicted with a virus, died and were reanimated into flesh-eating zombies.”
Avenged Sevenfold recently released the video for their first single which is the title track off the new album, Nightmare, which hits shelves next Tuesday. The video takes place in a “haunted” old hospital and seems to have several horror homages in place, including the scene where Jacob is pulled through hell on a stretcher from Jacob’s Ladder. We scored some behind the scenes photos from the video shoot, it’s definitly a creepy place and the perfect setting for A7X’s new video. Let me know if you see any orbs or figures staring at you through windows… read on for the pics.
