If you wanted to know what Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) will look like in the upcoming “Bates Motel”, then today’s your lucky day. Here they are, talking about something totally healthy I’m sure with the iconic Psycho house in the background and the titular motel offscreen to their left. EW scored the pic. I actually think this could be pretty good, Farmiga is always interesting so I’m definitely curious about the possibilities.
The series examines the twisted relationship between serial-killer-to-be Norman (Freddie Highmore) and his mother Norma (Vera Varmiga). ““Bates Motel” will give viewers an intimate understanding of how Norman Bates’ psyche developed from his childhood through his teen years. Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn firsthand how his mother, Norma, and her lover damaged Norman, helping forge the most well-known serial killing motel owner in history.”
Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot, W. Earl Brown, Nestor Carbonell, Mike Vogel, Olivia Cooke and Nicola Peltz also star in “Bates Motel,” which is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada. It premieres in 2013 on A&E.

Warner Bros. Pictures will release James Wan’s The Conjuring (previously The Warren Files) on July 19, 2013. That’s a ways off, but now EW print edition has landed the first look at the film! It features Vera Farmiga’s Lorraine Warren staring into a music-box that emits something close Wan’s trademark Saw spiral.
Wan, director of Saw, Dead Silence and Insidious, tells this alternate take on The Amityville Horror that’s inspired by the supernatural events that happened in the Rhode Island home of the Perron family. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are playing the investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Lilli Taylor and Ron Livingston will portray the Perrons.

Paramount Pictures’ latest Paranormal Activity 4 viral promotion has me scratching my head a bit. I mean I know the blond girl is Kathryn Newton’s character, but not the other. I’ve seen the movie and I still can’t tell you who it is. Someone from PA2? That’s possible because PA2 barely exists to me anymore. PA3 for lyyyyffee (I seriously do like PA3)! The pic comes from the twitter account of Jacob Degloshi.
In theaters this Friday, October 19 from Catfish duo Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the cast is said to feature Katie Featherston, Kathryn Newton, Matt Shively, Brady Allen, Alisha Boe and Tommy Miranda.
In the sequel, “It has been five years since the disappearance of Katie and Hunter, and a suburban family witness strange events in their neighborhood when a woman and a mysterious child move in.”

Nope! I still haven’t seen The Possession. But pretty much everyone I know who has seen the Sam Raimi produced/Ole Bornedal directed picture has really dug it, so I’m totally cool plunking down my 12 bucks (wait – I live in LA – 19 bucks) when it hits theaters at the end of the month. Also cool is this pic from Ain’t It Cool news, which keeps with film’s marketing trend of showing awesome stuff without showing too much. It also shows Matisyahu being tackled to the ground, so naturally it appeals to me.
“Based on a true story, ‘The Possession’ is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.”

A few weeks back we had a pic Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi suiting up for action in Guillermo del Toro’s epic sci-fi adventure Pacific Rim, and now we have another from probably 5 seconds later in the film. It’s thoughtful of them to be releasing these stills in sequence! I can almost construct the scene in my head (not really)!
Del Toro recently stated that the battles in the film will take place everywhere, “We take the battles far and above! Two or three of them happen in places where there have never been a battle between kaiju and robots. From the bottom of the ocean to the atmosphere of the Earth. We have a battle in a storm at sea. Every battle we try to do differently. One is seen from the point of view of a single person. We never cut away from that point of view.” This photo, like last week’s, doesn’t really give much of an indicator as to which kind of theses battles they’re headed in to.
Pacific Rim opens on July 12, 2013. There will be plenty more coverage from Comic-Con this week! USA Today got their hands on the still which you can see inside. READ MORE
It’s no secret that Michael Rooker’s “Merle Dixon” is returning to AMC’s third season of “The Walking Dead”, and it looks like he’ll be joining the group of survivors headed by the notorious The Governor (played by David Morrissey). But a lot of people are wondering how he’s coping after losing a significant appendage. Spoiler TV got their hands on a pic that goes a little bit of the way towards answering that question.
The show, “tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth.”
