[TV] Wes Craven Speaks Out On The “Scream” Series

A few weeks back we were all pretty surprised when it was announced that MTV had given the greenlight to the “Scream” pilot. I mean, development talk is one thing – but a go-ahead to start production is a much bigger commitment. It was also announced that Wes Craven was in discussions to come back to direct the hour-long pilot, which Craven himself confirmed today. Although he won’t commit unless he approves of the script (which seems like a logical ask on his part).

He tweeted the following, “A lot of you have asked about the Scream TV series. It’s true I’ve been approached. My response was, it would depend on the script… If they have a great script/concept, it could be fun. If not, not.

So do a good job, whoever you are writing it. You’re probably not Kevin Williamson, or else we would know. Dimension Films will co-produce. If “Scream” receives a series order it will hit in late summer 2014. READ MORE

[TV] That “Zombieland” Pilot Is Finally Live!

After sort of a bungled launch, and then a one-day delay, Amazon Studios’ “Zombieland” pilot is now out and available to view for free! Right HERE! This is the US link, other countries may need to go to their own Amazon site.

There’s a feedback button to vote for the show’s future (as previously reported) – I say go ahead and do it. You know how much better shows get after the pilot. I’ll be checking this show out later today and hoping for the best.

The show is based on the hit Columbia Pictures movie of the same name, and finds four survivors outwitting zombies and searching for a place to call home. The Zombieland pilot comes from the feature film’s original creative team, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, The Joe Schmo Show), and producer Gavin Polone (Gilmore Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm). Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) is directing the pilot.

The part of Tallahassee is played by Kirk Ward (The Island), Maiara Walsh (Desperate Housewives, Switched at Birth,) is Wichita, Tyler Ross (Milkshake) is Columbus, and Izabela Vidovic has the role of Little Rock. READ MORE

[TV] Whoa! Watch The “Zombieland” Pilot Now! UPDATE!

2nd Update: Apparently this is sort of a “technical error” launch on Amazon’s part. The link says you “own” the video and can play it, but it doesn’t actually play the file. Make no mistake, this is the page where it we’ll be. We’re now hearing that this will be out Friday (tomorrow). We’ll update when that happens.

This came almost out of nowhere (sans yesterday’s hint) Amazon Studios’ “Zombieland” pilot is… out! For free on Amazon! Right HERE! Right now this apparently only works for US residents.

Also, I haven’t seen it yet so it might be great, but if there’s an option to vote for the show’s future (as previously reported) – go ahead and do it. You know how much better shows get after the pilot.

TV: NBC’s ‘Revolution’, New Clip From ‘The River’ Gets Dolled Up

The “Revolution” is getting closer to being televised. TV Line reports that NBC has given the green light to the hour-long thriller penned by “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke and exec produced by J.J. Abrams (Cloverfield, Let Me In) and Bryan Burk. The project is described as a “high-octane action drama that follows a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.” Sounds like an idea that spawned during the filming of the “Lost” finale.

In other news, inside you’ll find a new clip from ABC’s “The River”, a new series from Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli. “The River”‘s 8-episode Season 1 debuts February 7th, 2012. READ MORE
