The third installment of Image Comics and Ken Garing’s Planetoid hits shelves this week, adding a much needed human element to the arc. Garing’s sporadic use of dialogue has thus far allowed the art of his comic to define the mood; bleak swathes of metallic wasteland dominated almost every panel of the first 2 issues, giving the comic a pervasive hopelessness. Hearing that a new comic has sold out is always exciting, and it is especially good when you have one of the copies. One look at the cover of Ken Garing’s new comic, Planetoid, will tell you why it flew off of the shelves. The especially hulking robot had me flipping the cover almost immediately, but something caught my eye: Garing wrote, illustrated and did the lettering for the book, and he nails every aspect of “Planetoid Issue” #1.  Gregorian Meets Metal In The Dark Side Of The Chant
I love me some metal. But what you might not know about me is that I also love kicking back to classical and chant every once in a while. So when I hear that the two are mixing, I get a little antsy in my pantsy, know what I mean? Such is the case with Gregorian, who are releasing The Dark Side Of The Chant, an album tomorrow that has them covering bands such as Evanescence, AC/DC, Unheilig, and more. Their cover of Hell’s Bells didn’t really do much for me but I’m really interested to hear Madonna‘s Frozen and Depeche Mode‘s Stripped
