Thanks to Lonnie for the heads up on this. Coming May 1st as a standalone downloadable game is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. From the video it seems it doesn’t actually have anything to do with Far Cry 3, though there could be some nods later in the game. The guys over at IGN got a chance to check out the first 15 minutes of the game, and god damn does it look like fun. The game gives off a hardcore 80′s action movie vibe, and it’s hilarious and knows it. Right off the bat from the music, to achievements to the dialogue, it starts referencing some of classics from that magical era. Check out the video past the break. Trust me it’s worth watching through to the end.
The love and bane of Adam’s existence Demon’s Souls will be available for download on the Playstation Network January 8th. So if you really like to have a video game beating like no other, you might consider buying this game. It will set you back 20 bucks but you’ll have endless frustrating hours playing it. When the game is released Atlus will be hosting a “Pure White World Tendency Event from 1/8 – 1/14.” What the hell does that mean? I thought to myself. Head past the break to find out if you’re so inclined.
Recently announced by E.A. and the magical Visceral Games is a playable demo for Dead Space 3. It’s going to be coming to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade on January 22nd. Xbox 360 users however can get access to the demo a week early just by signing up over at DeadSpace.com. It’s said you’ll be able to try the single player, the co-op, and use the Kinect voice commands in the demo. Dead Space 3 is a game I will definitely be buying, so the demo might get shoved aside so I don’t spoil any of the campaign for my 1st play through. Anyone else?
Releasing ToeJam and Earl on the same day as Halo 4 was in my opinion, DUMB. So once I come down off my Halo 4 high horse I will definitely be getting the ToeJam and Earl collection. In case you didn’t already know, it’s out today in North America on the Playstation Network. Tomorrow in Europe on the PSN, and globally on Xbox Live Arcade. It includes the original game, and the 2nd game ToeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron. Supposedly the Playstation Network will sell them at 5 bucks each, and XBLA will have them bundled together for 800 Microsoft Funk Bucks. Screens past the break.
I’m speechless. I never thought I’d see the day. But it really is happening. ToeJam & Earl are coming to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Some childhood memories are flooding out my brain. November 7th you’ll be able to get the original game and ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron as part of Sega’s Vintage Collection, a pack that will run you 10 bucks or 800 Microsoft Toe Jammy Points. Both games include Trophy and Achievement support as well as online 2 player co-op for both games. Screens and game info past the break!
If you haven’t already experienced The Walking Dead game yo may want to give it a shot. I’ve got to say, it’s weird and not like any game I’ve ever played. But it’s definitely fun and will mess with your nerves. If you do play it, never let your guard down because that’s when you’ll get wrecked. Below you can check out the accolades trailer where a bunch of sites say nice things about the game and give it some damn good reviews.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD came out yesterday and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. It’s been raining quite a bit in Chicago/Chicagoland the past couple days. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ecstatic about it because we’ve pretty much been going through a drought followed by random high humidity heat waves. When I play most Tony Hawk games I want to go out and skate afterwards. But I can’t, so I’ve been inside playing more Tony Hawk instead. Upon the release of the game, it was also announced they are working on even more levels for DLC. The maps in THPS HD are taken from the 1st and 2nd game, the 1st DLC will contain maps from THPS 3. Check out this video as Tony Hawk tells you all about it.
Hopefully the game will do well enough that they will keep releasing new maps as DLC. If you head past the break you can check out a new trailer, tons screenshots, and game features.
The single game that made me buy a Sega Saturn? Nights. Why? Because back in the day flying was a big deal. Now we have tons of games where you fly around like it’s no big deal. But back in the days of the glorious Sega Saturn, a game like Nights opened up the minds of young gamers like myself to glorious new worlds. Well, coming this fall to the PC, Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade NiGHTS Into Dreams will be re-released in HD. Wondrous HD. Lots more past the break!
I’m friggen excited for Dust 514. If you want into the beta as bad as I do, you can either wait to be chosen at random, or, you can purchase the Mercenary Pack and automatically gain access to all betas until release. The price, 20 bucks. Supposedly a 50 dollar value. Like they tell you in all those infomercials. You want the mini schticky? Buy the regular schticky and we’ll include a million more for free. A bazillion dollar value, yours for just $19.95, call now to order. Head past the break for all the goods you get in the Mercenary Pack.
Alien Fear is an upcoming first person shooter that’s running on Unreal 3. It’s coming out for the Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade and looks damn good for a downloadable game. It’s pretty amazing to see how far games are coming year to year. Alien Fear looks as good as a lot of full price games that are out there. I don’t yet know if there will be much to the story, but you and other commandos are on a sabotage mission. It sounds like non stop action with friends just going to town on aliens. Alien Fear is looking to be released this fall.
I used to skate many a year ago. I was never any good at it. But when I see Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD assets, I just want to grab my board and go hurt myself. The full soundtrack was announced which you can check out past the break. But I have to say I’m quite disappointed that there is only 1 song from THPS1 on there. It’s Goldfinger, and I love me some Goldfinger, but seriously that 1st games music as by far the best. Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD will be out sometime this summer, no official release date yet for the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. The game will run you 15 bucks, which I will happily pay for. Screens, soundtrack, and game info past the break.
I Am Alive is taking survival games to the next level. By that I mean they are making it incredibly real. Some would say the more real life you make a game the less fun it would be. I’ve definitely encountered people who have said things along the lines of “Whatever, that would never happen, it doesn’t make sense.” Well, technically that’s what video games are for. Giving us everything we can’t have in real life. Check out the video and draw up your own conclusion.
I Am Alive comes out Match 7th on the Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade. READ MORE
I’m gonna tell it like it is. I did not have fun playing Skate. I mean, I know they were going for realism with the game, and they nailed it. A lot of people liked the game. I just couldn’t get into it. I skated for years and sucked my ass off at it. So naturally I loved to pick up a game like Tony Hawk and grind my balls off.
Past the break you can check out some pretty awesome looking screens from the new HD deliciousness. Also, a decent amount of game info. It should be coming this summer to the Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade. The cost? 15 dollars. Or, 1200 Broken Skateboards. READ MORE
Well, Amy the downloadable survival horror game we’ve all been waiting for is out. If given the opportunity I always get a demo first, JUST to be safe. I feel that in the case of sad little speechless Amy try before you buy was the right choice. The game definitely feels like an old school survival horror game, the controls are a bit wonky, and it’s a bit slow moving.
The combat reeks of early Silent Hill, I definitely felt threatened with every enemy I fought. Have we evolved to the point where games like this that used to grip up and leave us on the edge of our seat just don’t cut it anymore? Has anyone else attempted the demo? Anyone bought the game? Can someone convince me to shed the 10 bucks for it? READ MORE
I’m still not sure how I feel about the dramatic change in direction that I Am Alive has taken. I was definitely more interested in the original plot, and the games graphics definitely looked better. It also helped that the game took place in Chicago, and now I’m not quite so sure. The video below gives you an interview with one of the games creators, as he explains some key elements to the game.
No exact release date yet, but expect it to be hitting the Xbox Live Arcade first and Playstation Network a bit later. READ MORE
2 screens past the break.
I’m pretty excited about Gotham City Impostors. Something I really love about many games is when they have massive amounts of customization. And no I’m not talking about where I can mess around with the cheek bones on my face, or the distance my eyebrows are apart from each other. I just mean, let me change my hair color, dress myself up however I want, that kind of stuff.
Gotham City Impostors is basically a 1st person shooter, multiplayer battles only. It comes out early 2012 on the PC, Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade. READ MORE
Unfortunately for the die hard Bloodrayne fans, Betrayal is not going to be a full 60 dollar release. Could it be due the the movie and it’s eternal horribleness? No one will ever REALLY know. But, the games release on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network might be just what the franchise needs.
New screens past the break, and Bloodrayne: Betrayal will be out August 31st for the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. READ MORE
Remember Burn Zombie Burn!? It was one of the 1st per say, of all these zombie games that have come pouring out of the wood work, or graves. Well, developer doublesix is back with a new zombie game, All Zombies Must Die! While not a direct sequel to Burn Zombie Burn! they are however calling it a spiritual successor.
All Zombies Must Die! will have RPG elements to the game, such as character leveling, quests, many different weapons and weapon combos. A Gamer, a Girl, a Mad Scientist and an Alien are all that stands between 6 billion zombies and the world’s supply of delicious, supple brains. It looks as if there will be 4 player co-op (my fave), for some team zombie killing action. Check out some screens past the break. The game will be coming out sometime in the 4th quarter of this year on the PC, Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade. READ MORE
Gotham City Impostors is a 1st person shooter, yes, and FPS, that is coming out on the PC, Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade. You basically get to dress yourself up like either super heroes, or villains, and go to town on each other with tons of fun weaponry. Check out the excellent trailer below.
Sure, it’s no Arkham City but it should be a lot of fun for a smallish price tag upon its release in early 2012. You’ll be able to pick it up for $14.99 on the PSN and PC, and 1200 Microsoft Monopoly Bucks on Xbox Live. READ MORE
