Alright Soccer Moms, Start Squealing As A New NKOTBSB Album Is In The Works

The New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys ‘NKOTBSB’ tour is already selling out all over the country and fans are going completely nuts. And let’s be honest, why shouldn’t they? When it comes to the numbers, both of these groups are at the top of the pop genre, regardless of how long it’s been since they were “popular”. Because of this renewed interest, the two groups are putting out an album that features five fan picked songs from each group AND a track where the two bands will collaborate on a new song, ‘Don’t Turn Out The Lights’. Also on the album will be the mash-up that NKOTBSB has performed a couple of times, most notably on New Years Eve and at the 2010 AMAs.

David Lynch To Direct Duran Duran Live Stream Concert

Famed director David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Dr., Elephant Man, Twin Peaks) will be directing Duran Duran in an upcoming live stream concert on March 23rd. The concert is the kickoff to the second year of the American Express Unstaged series. In addition to the amazing visual live show that is being planned, fans can submit photos and art which will be showcased on surreal displays throughout the night. The live stream will begin at 10pm EST/7pm PST from the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles, California. To watch it, keep your eyes peeled on Duran Duran’s official YouTube channel.

This concert comes a day after Duran Duran releases their 13th studio album, All You Need Is Now and two years after their last tour. What do you guys think? I’m kinda terrified to watch Hungry Like The Wolf as seen through the eyes of David Lynch. READ MORE

What The Hell Is Going On In Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’???

It’s no secret that I think Lady Gaga is horror fan. She calls her fans her “little monsters”, her videos are FULL of horror movie references and her outfits are often meant to shock viewers. Remember her meat dress? Yeah, that was rather…unique? In any case, she released her video for ‘Born This Way‘, which starts off with some pretty interesting birth sequences (queue the goo) before segueing into the standard Gaga dance choreography that we’re used to seeing.

However, check out the screen shot below and the ones after the jump to see some of the horror references she used in this video. Doesn’t that last one remind you of Alien: Resurrection when Ripley falls through the floor and lands on a mass of xenomorph bodies?

Tour Dates Announced For New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys

Lest we forget about this awesome tour, I’ve got some tour dates that were announced for the upcoming New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys run that you can check out after the jump. First announced by Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, the two groups will play a handful of shows in mid-2011. Tickets go on sale starting next Friday. Here are some statements from the two groups:

“It started when we got together at Radio City Music Hall a few months back.  We wanted to do something big for the crowd in NY.  So we got the Backstreet Boys to come down to Radio City and we put together a performance of ‘I Want It That Way’ in about 5 minutes.  It was electric.  Something happened when they came out on stage.  The crowd went to a place that we never heard it go to before,” said the guys of New Kids on the Block live on air with Ryan Seacrest this morning.  ”We started talking, people started talking, and it seemed right.  It’s really just going to be an amazing night of pop music and pop culture.”
“We are blessed.  This is a wonderful opportunity for fans of all— not only New Kids fans, or Backstreet fans, but fans of music.  It’s not about who opens or who closes.  It’s a night of continuous music, hit after hit.  We are going to give people a show to remember.” added the Backstreet Boys.  ”We want to make this a night that people will never forget.  We want to give them something to take them to another place that they’ve never been before.”
Preorders will be HERE.

Ten Creepy Music Videos Just In Time For Halloween

So, it’s practically Halloween, a time of year that I, and I know many of you, love. We get to decorate our yards with gravestones, skeletons, dismembered limbs. We get to dress up as our favorite monster or creature. We get to have horror movie marathons. Basically, it’s the greatest time of the year, hands down. So I figured in the spirit of Bloody-Disgusting Music, why don’t I put together a list of 10 creepy music videos to just add fuel to the Halloween fire that’s burning in you all. This list is in no particular order, I just wanted to share them with you. The first is here and the remaining nine are after the jump. Enjoy!

Hank & Cupcakes Announce US East Coast Tour

New York electronic/pop duo Hank & Cupcakes will be embarking on a East Coast tour starting next week. Here’s a quote from the band: ”We can’t wait to get on the road. We’ve been in intense preparations by day, playing our last NYC shows by night – this is a crazy exciting time!,” excitedly admits vocalist/drummer Cupcakes. Her counterpart Hank adds “We love playing outside of NYC and always get inspired and filled with new energies after these intense adventures. Playing shows is the essence of what Hank & Cupcakes are trying to do, which is to party, spread good vibes and connect to people!”

I’m actually really digging on their sound. Kinda sexy and spunky. For your information, those are also two words that should probably not be together in the same sentence. Check after the jump for tour dates.
