TV: Poster For “The Walking Dead” Season 3 Shows The Prison Backdrop

Season 3 of The Walking Dead is approaching fast. Remember the key art last year that showed Rick running up to the farmhouse? This new one takes a similar approach in setting up the season’s backdrop.

While Rick and the gang are busy clearing out a prison in the hopes of transforming it into a protective fortress, not so far away is the town of Woodbury, Georgia, and its self-appointed leader, the Governor (David Morrissey).

[TIFF '12] Another Poster For ‘The Lords Of Salem’ Offers An Advisory!

After being announced as part of this September’s epic Toronto International Film Festival Midnight Madness line-up, Bloody has been provided with the second official poster for Rob Zombie’s The Lords Of Salem, which will have its world premiere alongside 9 other fantastic sounding genre flicks. This new one-sheet is comprised of a culty looking symbol and the advisory that “The Lords Are Coming“.

In the film, “Heidi, a radio station DJ, receives a wooden box containing a record. Heidi listens and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of Salem’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad or are the Lords of Salem returning for revenge on modern day Salem?

As someone who kinda liked The Devil’s Rejects, I’m hoping that this film is a return to that form. The Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 6th-16th. READ MORE

New Poster For ‘Solomon Kane’ A Vast Improvement

Mr. Disgusting absolutely hated Michael J. Bassett’s Solomon Kane – but that doesn’t mean you will! Now the James Purefoy starrer is finally getting a U.S. release via The Weinstein Company’s new division Radius. And now we have a new theatrical one-sheet for the film that looks a lot better!

Having screened at the convention this past July, it was announced that Solomon Kane will do battle with evil on VOD August 24 before opening in limited theaters September 28.

The character of Solomon Kane was originated by pulp-era writer Robert E. Howard, the legendary creator of “Conan” and “Red Sonja”. The film adaptation tells the heroic story of a savage warrior in 16th Century England who seeks redemption for a lifetime of sins by renouncing violence to live a life of purity, only to find himself compelled to pick up his sword once again to vanquish a growing evil.

Pete Postlethwaite, Max Von Sydow, Rachel Hurd Wood, Alice Krige, Mackenzie Crook also star. Head inside to check it out. READ MORE

New Trailer And Poster For Brandon Cronenberg’s ‘Antiviral’ Go Celebrity Body Horror On Us

Included in the line-up is for the Toronto International Film Festival is Brandon Cronenberg’s Antiviral, which will be making its North American Premiere at the September event. Now, we have a new trailer and poster for the film.

The trailer is certainly interesting, but it seems a like a heavy-handed extrapolation of something Cronenberg might have learned in Media Studies 101. Obviously the film could be much more nuanced and, at any rate, it seems like there’s a d*mn good amount of body horror in the thing.

‘Antiviral’ follows Syd March, an employee at a clinic that sells injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans. Biological communion – for a price. Syd also supplies illegal samples of these viruses to piracy groups, smuggling them from the clinic in his own body. When he becomes infected with the disease that kills super sensation Hannah Geist, Syd becomes a target for collectors and rabid fans. He must unravel the mystery surrounding her death before he suffers the same fate.

Caleb Landry Jones, Sarah Gadon, Malcolm McDowell, Douglas Smith, Matt Watts and James Cade all star. Head inside for the trailer and poster. READ MORE

Sorority Row and Piranha 3D writer Josh Stolberg wrapped up Crawlspace (formerly Hideaway) earlier this year. The new indie thriller is aimed at VOD producer Vuguru, and now we have a one-sheet making ominous use of a ladder.

A small description reveals that the pic is “about a killer terrorizing a family living in his foreclosed house,” so kind of like a male Mother’s Day, I suppose. Father’s Day?

Steve Weber (The Shining, Desperation) stars alongside Jonathan Silverman, Lori Loughlin, Nicole Moore and Sterling Beaumon all star.

New ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ Poster Proves “Evil Goes Global” All Over Again, This Time With Zombies

Sony Screen Gems’ forthcoming Resident Evil: Retribution, which is directed once again by Paul W.S. Anderson, is less than two months away and we’re starting to see an “ultimate saturation” point with the marketing materials. A few weeks back we showed you a one-sheet featuring Alice (Milla Jovovich) going global (at least that was the tagline). But now a new international poster has decided that the look from two weeks ago would go over better gussied up with some zombies. I’ve included both below the jump for comparison.

In theaters September 14, “The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Colin Salmon, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Michelle Rodriguez, Johann Urb, Oded Fehr, Kevin Durand and Li Bingbing all star. Check out the new poster inside! READ MORE

New Poster For ‘The Possession’ Is Unbearably Generic

We got our hands on a new poster for Lionsgate’s The Possession, and it looks like every other poster for every other haunting/possession movie ever made. The trailer looks great – so why can’t we have something cool for this movie? Moths. Woot.

The film starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kyra Sedgwick, Madison Davenport and Natasha Calis is said to be in the vein of The Exorcist or The Shining, based on real events that transpired after a family wound up in possession of a haunted box, setting off a harrowing struggle to rid themselves of the box’s evil curse.

Directed by Ole Bornedal, the Sam Raimi/Ghost House Pictures produced supernatural chiller is in theaters everywhere August 31. The film, “is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. Nicholas Vigneau will make an appearance as young Dexter with Savannah Paige Rae (“Parenthood”) as young Debra.

Buddy Giovinazzo’s ‘A Night Of Nightmares’ Builds Its Foundation With A Poster And Synopsis

A Night Of Nightmares, from director Buddy Giovinazzo (Maniac 2, Combat Shock, Life Is Hot In Cracktown), is an official Fantasia Fest selection and stars Marc Senter (The Devil’s Carnival), Elissa Dowling (The Theatre Bizarre) and Jason London (Dazed And Confused). Now, Twitch has landed the synopsis and poster for the project.

In the film, “Mark Lighthouse is on his way to interview a subject for his underground music blog. Ginger, his newest singing discovery, is living in an old house up in the mountains, where she’s agreed to give him an interview and cook him dinner.

At the house, Ginger is not only talented but an exotic beauty as well. Mark starts his video interview and he and Ginger hit it off right away. They banter good-naturedly, their time together is easy. When Ginger gets a strange call from the eccentric owner of the mountain house, Cliff Tanner, they both laugh over his old-fashioned “down home” simplicity.

Throughout the interview in the house, small things occur. Keys are missing, a door is open that was shut earlier, music plays from a record player. It all seems harmless until Ginger’s psychotic ex-high school teacher, Phil, appears with a gun. Just released from prison after nine years for raping Ginger when she was 15 years old, he’s tracked her down to be with her, forever.

‘Treachery’ Debuts A Decent Poster And Pairs It With The Least Inspiring Still Ever

Treachery Banner 61412 Treachery Debuts A Decent Poster And Pairs It With The Least Inspiring Still Ever

Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens) stars in writer/director Travis Romero’s Treachery, a thriller featuring an ensemble cast that also includes Jennifer Blanc Biehn (Among Friends), Sarah Butler (I Spit on Your Grave), Caitlin Keats (Kill Bill Vol. 2), Chris Meyer (Among Friends) and Matthew Ziff (Truck Stop). It started shooting earlier this month and now Dread Central has landed a still and a poster for the film.

While the poster is actually pretty good, I have no idea what inspired them to release the image they chose for the still. All it does is confirm that Blanc Biehn and a dour Kevin Kline lookalike are in the film. For all I know Treachery is really great, but if someone accidentally took that photo on my iPhone I’d delete it.

The film “ captures the controversy between Henry and his estranged son, Nathan. Reunited at a friend’s small wedding party in a remote cabin, Henry and Nathan have their usual awkward interactions. Nathan, accompanied by his girlfriend Cecilia, seeks his father’s approval. Cecilia’s presence only adds to Henry’s discomfort, forcing him to want to leave, but a storm hits, trapping them in the cabin and headed for the worst along with the rest of the group. None of them really realize what is truly in store.

Add Two New Posters To The ‘Torture Chamber’

Torture Chamber Add Two New Posters To The Torture Chamber

Dante Tomaselli’s (Horror and Satan’s Playground) indie horror Torture Chamber is raising its public profile a bit today with two new posters that take a spin on one of the key images from the film.

The film is a “Hallucinatory horror shocker about an unholy bond between a mother and her two sons. A Catholic priest, devoted to saving his family, tries to cure his deranged younger brother — but 13-year-old Jimmy Morgan is possessed by an evil too powerful to be exorcised by any religion. After escaping from a mental institution, Jimmy is back with a vengeance — and an army of children who follow his every murderous desire. The town trembles in fear as the youths attack and abduct its residents — innocent and guilty alike — dragging their victims to an abandoned castle and subjecting them to grisly torments deep within its underground tunnels. Those who discover the terrible secret behind the disappearances and deaths don’t live long enough to tell it. The teacher, the doctor, even Jimmy’s own brother and mother, will all confront their fates in the Torture Chamber.

Torture Chamber stars Vincent Pastore (“The Sopranos”), Christie Sanford (“Desecration”), Lynn Lowry (The Crazies) and Ron Millkie (Friday the 13th).

Crazy Good New ‘V/H/S’ Poster Organizes Your Tapes By Skull

Sundance hit V/H/S was picked up during the fest by Magnolia Pictures genre label, Magnet Releasing. Magnolia’s normal VOD-before-theaters model will be in play when V/H/S hits VOD on August 31st 2012 a few weeks before debuting in theaters on October 5th. With the film looming on the horizon, we’re starting to see some promo material emerge. Case in point? This old-school poster that Movies.com got their hands on.

In the film, “a group of misfits hired to burglarise a house to find a rare VHS tape, only to find more found footage than they wanted to see.” The directors are Adam Wingard (You’re Next, A Horrible Way to Die, Pop Skull), Simon Barrett (You’re Next, Dead Birds, Read Sands), Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Roost, The Innkeepers), David Bruckner (The Signal), Joe Swanberg (Silver Bullets), Glenn McQuaid (I Sell the Dead), along with YouTube sensations Radio Silence.

And yes, in full disclosure the Bloody-Disgusting co-founders had a major hand in making the film. But we’re allowed to be frank here – if I didn’t like this movie I wouldn’t compliment it. But it’s actually a pretty great ride and I can’t wait for a lot more people to see it! Head inside to check out the poster. READ MORE

Possession Header2 52112 Spotlight On Latest The Possession One Sheet

On August 31 Lionsgate will open their haunted dibbuk box when they release The Possession, the Sam Raimi Ghost House Pictures produced supernatural chiller, in theaters everywhere. Directed by Ole Bornedal, the story is based on a haunted box purchased on Ebay that brings bad fortune to its possessors (2004 LA Times articles). It was eventually passed from one person to the next and causing all sorts of torment. The real-life box gained notoriety in 2004 when it sold on eBay after causing inexplicable bad fortune to its owners which were attributed to a dibbuk – a malevolent spirit of Jewish folklore trapped in the haunted box.

While we’ve already reached inside and shared the official poster and trailer, a second one-sheet has been released that plops the first still dead front and center.
