Official Motion Poster For Total Recall Arrives From The Fringe

*Updated with the film’s official motion poster that transports Colin Farrell into Recall.

Moviegoers will begin their Recall experience on Sunday, April 1, as Columbia Pictures debuts the trailer for Underworld director Len Wiseman’s highly anticipated action thriller Total Recall during the NBA game between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat broadcast nationally on ABC. Following, an extended version will make it’s way online. Until then, check out the following video teaser!

Total Recall, in theaters August 3, is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick.

“Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Incredibly Rare Dracula Poster Discovered, Sold For $143,400

Who doesn’t love to read about insane collectibles that none of us could ever possibly own?

The Hollywood Reporter writes about a trove of rare movie posters from the early ’30s discovered in Berwick Pennsylvania that fetched a disgusting $503,000 at an auction conducted by Heritage Auctions.

While most of them aren’t relevant here, the most coveted item in the collection was a rare 1931 one-sheet from Universal Pictures’ Tod Browning-directed Dracula, just one of four known copies in existence, which fetched $143,400, slightly below its initial estimate of $200,000.

The gorgeous painted poster features Béla Lugosi as Dracula and the tagline “The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!”

First announced at AFM back in November comes from New Breed Entertainment and director Corey Grant, The Lost Coast Tapes, starring Drew Rausch, Ashley Wood, Rich McDonald, Frank Ashmore and Noah Weisberg.

“A cynical investigative journalist and his documentary team travel to a remote cabin to debunk a Cryptozoologist’s claim of finding a dead Bigfoot, but their film quickly becomes a record of their life and battle against an unseen horror.”

[SXSW 12] Fiery Clip, New Still and Poster For Modus Anomali!

Leading up to the SXSW Film Festival we brought you these two crazy awesome teaser trailers for the Indonesian horror flick Modus Anomali, an English-language thriller from The Forbidden Door filmmaker Joko Anwar.

“During a vacation in the woods, a man tries to find his family who mysteriously disappear, while being hunted by a sadistic killer. His only clues are several alarm clocks which seem to tell him about a deadline to something he doesn’t know.” Rio Dewanto, Hannah Al Rashid, Izziati Amara Isman, Aridh Tritama, Surya Saputra, Marsha Timothy, Sadha Triyudha and Jose Gamo all star in the World Preimere.

I was able to catch the film (yet to review it) and it was pretty fantastic, featuring a plot twist that’ll blow your friggin’ mind all over the wall. Sorry to tease, since there’s still no U.S. distribution, but at least you can enjoy the above new still, alongside the following poster and first clip that sets the fiery tone of the flick. Rat King, Replicas… with Tribeca horror features, it’s usually pretty difficult to get a full flavor of what the films will be like, as they are often world premieres or shrouded in some sort of secrecy. That being said, there is still one film on my radar that I’m looking forward to covering for sure, and that is Resolution, directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Scott Moorhead.

“Michael is committed to getting his best friend Chris to sober up and put his life back on track. But what begins as an attempt to save his friend’s life quickly takes an unexpected turn as the two friends confront personal demons, the consequences of past actions, and forces beyond their control. Expertly balancing dark humor, heart, and thrills, Resolution is an utterly unique cinematic experience that defies genre classification.”

The drug dealer violence / detox slant looks like it makes for some good tension, but with the synopsis saying that it defied genre classification – I got wary as to whether or not this was something BD viewers would want within their horror realm. The media blitz for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows is in full swing. We’ve had posters, images, multiple trailers and now we have a look at nine uber-colorful character one-sheets for the film. The characters played by Eva Green, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Moretz, Johnny Lee Miller, Gully McGrath, Bella Heathcote, Helena Bonham Carter and Jackie Earle Haley are all highlighted here.

In theaters May 11 “The story focuses on Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green’s witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. He’s just been dug up, and attempts to reintegrate with his descendants, led by Michelle Pfeiffer’s Elizabeth and Jonny Lee Miller’s Roger – despite the fact that Angelique is still around and still not in a forgiving mood.”

“The Demonicron is REAL! At least that’s what obsessed college professor Vern Drake (Joe Estevez) believes about a book said to open the gateway to hell. This leads to ridicule by his colleagues Cordell (Robert Z’dar) and Donnely (Dustin Diamond) as well as his students, which include screwball jocks Alex and Brock (Brad Leo Lyon) who is the son of pro wrestling legend Richard Hertz (Aurelian Smith). Pushed over the edge after being fired by the dean (Lark Voorhies), Drake locates the book and plans to conjure the demons from within its pages to get his revenge. However, when he only manages to translate half the words required to summon them, he only gets half sized demons. Now the demons are anxious to prove that though they are half the size, they are double the trouble!”

With the HD version of the trailer ~~arriving this afternoon~~ being uploaded as we speak (still), right now international press has landed 30 hi-res images from Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, which can all be enjoyed by clicking any pictorial on display.

We’ve also just added the official one-sheet and proper version of the trailer, both of which are a bit hokey. I’m nervous that the film is trickling into “pop culture” territory with their (near) modern-day comedy. This could go very badly…

The original Gothic soap opera was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

Millennium Entertainment has released released a “comic” poster designed by Jacen Burrows for the upcoming release of Intruders, the super weak genre film arriving in theaters March 30. We caught it at last September’s TIFF and was not a fan (read the review).

Starring Clive Owen, Daniel Brühl, Carice Van Houten, Pilar López de Ayala, Ella Purnell, Izan Corchero and Kerry Fox, the faux (I mean this literally) supernatural thriller was directed by 28 Weeks Later helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

“Though no one can see him, Hollow Face lurks in the corners, desperately desiring love but only knowing how to spread fear and hate. He creeps into the life of John Farrow (Clive Owen) after Farrow’s beloved 13-year-old daughter Mia (Ella Purnell) is assaulted in their home. Sean Byrne’s incredibly twisted and violent The Loved Ones will be making its way to theaters this Spring. But before Paramount pushes the prom night massacre out to all of you, the pic will screen once again at the SXSW Film Festival tomorrow. It will be playing at the Alamo Village @ 9PM. Those of you in Austin, definitely go check it out.

To celebrate the forthcoming release, Paramount has also supplied us with the eye-catching theatrical poster that’ll drop a drillbit in your brain.

A pair of new one-sheets have been discovered for Thailand’s first 3D horror movie. From Art of the Devil 2 director Issara Nadee comes Dark Flight 407, a 3-D tale that mirrors Takashi Shimizu’s English-language 7500. Below you’ll find two haunting new posters, courtesy of Sanook. The pic follows a flight attendant who is haunted by the victims of plane crashes.

In other poster news, inside we’ve also added a hideous Italian poster for The Raven that displays a pretty graphic execution in the background. I guess that’s pretty cool. Directed by James McTeigue, Luke Evans will play a detective who partners with Poe (John Cusack) to search for a serial killer who has kidnapped the author’s fiancee (Alice Eve) and has gone on a murder spree that mimics the author’s work. Martha Marcy May Marlene‘s Elizabeth Olsen stars in the horror flick featuring “88 minutes of real fear captured in real time.” The pic opens in theaters on March 9.

Having premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, Silent House was co-directed by filmmaking duo Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, who left audiences terrified with the hit film Open Water.

“ ‘Silent House’ is a uniquely unsettling horror thriller starring Elizabeth Olsen as Sarah, a young woman who finds herself sealed inside her family’s secluded lake house. While Joe Johnston works on his screenplay for NSFW, writer Adam Mason (who co-wrote with Simon Boyes) is gearing up to release his hypnotic indie Junkie, which now has an uncensored trailer, one-sheet and official website.

“‘Junkie’ is a black comedy about two drug addled brothers, Danny (Daniel Louis Rivas) and Nicky (Robert LaSardo).

When Danny wakes up one morning and decides he’s going clean, Nicky’s not taking it lying down, and drives Danny from one insane experience to another as a whole host of bizarre, surreal characters descend on their sprawling, dilapidated mansion, all with grievances to bear, debts to reclaim or trouble to cause.

As Danny’s life spirals out of control he must fight tooth and nail to kick the habit and rescue himself from the personal hell Nicky has consigned him to, whilst simultaneously attempting to repair the deeply damaged relationships with his increasingly bizarre friends and family.”

Filmax, the company behind the [REC] franchise, is giving birth to this demonic flick.

Grab A Tire Iron And Check Out ATMs Killer In Poster, Pair Of Clips!

IFC Midnight is withdrawing tons of content from David Brooks’ self-contained thriller ATM, which will be released on VOD and Digital Platforms (iTunes, Amazon Streaming, XBox ZUNE, PS3 Video Unlimited) on March 2nd before opening in theaters on April 6th.

The official one-sheet displays the killer looming just out the ATM, while the first two clips take us inside where all of the chaos ensues.

Penned by by Chris Sparling, whose previous credits include the Ryan Reynolds-starrer Buried, the flick stars Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker), Josh Peck (The Wackness), Alice Eve (Entourage).

The trio play co-workers who make a late-night visit to an ATM and find themselves fighting for their lives when they become trapped by an unknown man.

More High-Flying Terror In ‘Night Wings’

Ember Entertainment has taken the U.S. distribution rights to Dusan Strugar’s Night Wings (what a terrible title), a teen action thriller from Canadian indie producers Lucid Dreams and Julijette Inc, reports THR.

The Inferno Entertainment division is also handling international sales for the genre pic, written by Paul Birkett, “about a 12 year-old boy on a redeye flight over the Atlantic trying to convince the flight crew that vampires are onboard the flight from Romania. Only one passenger believes the boy, a father seeking revenge for the loss of his son to the Count Radu vampire clan.”

Strugar is currently visual effects producer on the Chronicles of Riddick sequel.

This Fright Night on a plane joins other high-flying thrillers over the past year from Altitude to Dark Flight 407, Quarantine 2: Terminal, Airborne and 7500. READ MORE

British Mutation ‘Inbred’ Gets Full Trailer

After causing local uproar during production (back last May), we brought you the first ever photos and art for Alex Chandon Inbred, a new indie that premiered at last summer’s Frightfest UK starring Jo Hartley, Seamus O’Neill, James Doherty, James Burrows, Nadine Mulkerrin, Neil Leiper, and Terry Haywood.

“The pic follows a disparate group of young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. A minor incident with some locals rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved.”

Sparky Revived In Frankenweenie Poster Premiere

In Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences. Arriving in theaters October 5, 2012 from Walt Disney Pictures’, we’ve landed the official one-sheet for the animated horror that revives good ol’ Sparky.

The voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on previous films: Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Martin Short (Mars Attacks!) and Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow), while Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer later added.
