Publisher Deep Silver has revealed the bonus DLC that comes with pre-ordering Dead Island: Riptide, and if you’re expecting anything as crazy as that bloody female torso folks in the UK are getting with the Zombie Bait Edition, prepare for some mild disappointment. The Fashion Victim DLC, which includes costumes for the game’s five playable characters, will be available at UK retailer GAME. Everyone else gets the Survivor Pack that includes a BBQ Blade — a knife with a superheated blade — a stat booster and a discounted shop.
Dead Island: Riptide releases on April 23 in North America and April 26 in Europe for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. If you opt out of pre-ordering it you can still get the Survivor Pack for $5, or 400 MSP, and the Fashion Victim pack for $2 (160 MSP).
Slender: The Arrival doesn’t release until next month, but that isn’t keeping developer Blue Isle from giving fans an opportunity to play the highly anticipated “reimagining” of Mark Hadley’s indie success right now. If you pre-order the game you’ll get instant access to the (unfinished) PC version of the game. As an added bonus, you can decide what you want to pay for it. They’ve provided a list of payment tiers that unlock increasingly valuable rewards like the game’s soundtrack, digital paintings, and even the chance to get your name listed on the credits. More after the jump.
Looks like Activision wants to move out of the busy week of March 26th by moving the release date for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the game a week earlier to March 19th. Survival Instinct Wii U release date is unaffected, as it will still come on the 26th. I’m a little surprised it didn’t go the other way, because from the gameplay footage and screenshots we’ve seen so far it looks like the game could benefit from some extra development time. Pre-order details after the jump.
It’s nice when just pre ordering a game can get you free shit. Then you don’t have to shell out a million more dollars to get some bonuses. If you pre order BioShock Infinite, you will get the Industrial Revolution Pack for free. What exactly is in the pack? Do didn’t think it would be that easy did you? Head past the break for a trailer and the details.
“Better with Kinect” is becoming a surprisingly popular slogan. Dead Space 3 is going to be one of those games with Kinect support. Also Destructoid is reporting you have 2 avenues of pre ordering the game that will get you some hot bonus action. Pre order at GameStop to get the EG-900 Sub Machine Gun, and Amazon gives you the Enervator. It sounds a bit more brutal than the EG-900 and I must admit I’m a way bigger Amazon fan. Head past the break for a new trailer showing you 2 ways to play the game.
Gears Of War: Judgement is coming out next March, and it does kind of seem like that’s a little too soon. Gears 3 was such a perfect game, I’m also afraid Judgement might have been a little rushed. Though Epic has really done no wrong in the Gears series as it has progressed, so really I’m all around totally unsure. If you pre order Judgement you can get your hands on the new/old Classic Hammerburst. Check out a video for it past the break.
We haven’t really gotten any back story into Master Chief himself. All I know is he is a massive super soldier that kicks all kinds of alien ass. If you watch the launch trailer below you’ll get to see the Chief more human than you’ve ever seen him before. I’m hoping Halo 4 will delve into who Master Chief was, but that could also taint his mysteriousness. What do you guys think?
Don’t forget to pre-order Halo 4 now releasing November 7th exclusively for the Xbox 360.
I’m not the biggest fan of Game Stop. But god damn it the exclusive they have for Borderlands 2 is awesome. The Creature Slaughter Dome is a place where you and friends can go and fight hordes of enemies to gain experience and you get to keep all the loot you get. That can really give you an advantage in the campaign. Check out the trailer for it below, and don’t for get to pre order Borderlands 2 before it’s release for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 on September 18th.
Many of us have been waiting for a long time to get our hands on Aliens: Colonial Marines. Well, February is still pretty far away. But you can start pre ordering as we speak, and the pre order specials and collectors editions are excellent. Head past the break for all the details, and sit around with your thumb up your ass until the game arrives on February 12th, 2013 on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
If you thought that some of the die hard Diablo fans have moved on over the years, you my friends are wrong. Amazon is reporting that Diablo III is the most pre-ordered PC game of all time on Amazon. It even beat out such games at Starcraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Want to help bring that pre-order number up even higher? Pre-order it now from AMAZON! And get it in time for it’s release on the PC and Mac on May 15th.
We knew it was coming, but things are so much better when they’re official. Now, Crysis 3 is official, and judging from the handful of screenshots, box art, and snippets of info EA’s leaked out, the game sounds like more Crysis. That’s definitely a good thing. Usually a game is announced via a debut trailer, or something along those lines, but this time around EA’s taken the less trodden path by tossing out a few screenshots, a look at the game’s box art, and some pre-order incentives. The game isn’t due out for a year, but if you really want to make sure you get your copy, you can pre-order yours right now. Head past the break for more info on the game’s setting, and what you’ll get if you pre-order it.
It’s true. I’ve been waiting so very patiently for The Secret World. The time to pre-order is upon us. Pre-ordering The Secret World will get you a pretty sweet amount of bonuses at no extra cost. If you head past the break you can check out that list and a video that explains it all as well. The Secret World will be released exclusively on the PC June 19th. READ MORE
If you’re an avid gamer that gets games from retail locations such as the Game Stops, Best Buys etc etc, you know that pre order bonuses have become a regular thing. You might have also noticed that Game Stop usually has the upper hand in the matter.
In general if you pre-order Mass Effect you get the M55 Argus Assault Rifle. However, if you pre-order from Game Stop or EB Games (I didn’t even realize they still existed)then you get the N7 Warfare Gear which includes N7 Defender Armor, Valkyrie Rifle, AND the M55 Rifle. Game Stop is the clear choice. READ MORE
If you recall a little over a week ago I posted about the Rise Of Nightmares pre-order bonuses. They are not so good. And just when you thought there couldn’t be a worse bonus, along comes the Amazon.com pre order bonus. For the exact same price, you get a Jester avatar pet. That’s it.
Listen, I know I’m bitching. I mean we should be grateful we get ANYTHING at all for free with the game just for pre-ordering. I remember spending full price for a game when I was younger, getting absolutely NOTHING extra with it, and then hating the crap out of the game. We live in a good era for video games. But if Amazon wants to beat out Game Stop they need to schmooze some better exclusives. Although Amazon does a lot of the time offer you a 20 dollar credit towards your next video game when you buy a new game from them. READ MORE
If you haven’t already checked out the frighteningly horrific Rise Of Nightmares screen shots that Adam posted 2 articles down, I suggest you stop acting like a scared little baby and do it. I mean sure Adam basically came onto the entire BD audience, but that’s nothing to be so afraid of. He’s gentle, and soft, and likes to coo softly in your ears to get you going.
I’ve strayed WAY far off the subject. If you pre-order Rise Of Nightmares from your local Game Stop you get some absolutely meh bonuses. I know you’re dying to know what the “lame” exclusive bonus stuff is, so I’m going to hold your hand to the mouse and make you click to head past the break to find out what exactly it all is.
