Last night marked the LA Premiere of director BJ McDonnell‘s Hatchet III at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. I headed down there to check out the film (as gory as the first two with a little more action, Crowley fans will certainly be satisfied) and chat with those involved on the red carpet. I briefly caught up with McDonnell and creator Adam Green along with stars Zach Galligan (Gremlins), Danielle Harris (Among Friends) Derek Mears (Friday the 13th 2009), Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) and of course Kane Hodder (F13 Parts 6-10).
In limited theaters and VOD on June 14th (this week!) from MPI/Dark Sky Films,”The film continues the tale of the now-iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). As a search and recovery team heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces and carnage left behind from the first two films, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hunts down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left the ghost of Victor Crowley haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.”
Head below for some quick tidbits! I organized the interviews in the order in which the subjects appeared, and you can kind of get a sense of how fast these things fly by at these events. READ MORE
On Friday night I headed to the Downtown Independent theater here in Los Angeles to catch a special screening of Alyce Kills and chat a bit with its writer/director Jay Lee (Zombie Strippers) and Alyce herself Jade Dornfeld.
In the film, “After accidentally knocking her best friend off a roof, Alyce is haunted by guilt and delves into a brutal nightmare wonderland of sex, drugs and violence, her mind tearing itself apart…along with anyone else who gets in her way.” Alyce Kills also stars Tamara Feldman (Hatchet), James Duval (Donnie Darko, Doom Generation), Eddie Rouse (Pandorum), Larry Cedar (The Crazies), Yorgo Constantine (Fast Five), Megan Gallagher (“Millenium”) Rena Owen (Once We Were Warriors), Tracey Walter (Repo Man, Batman) and Bret Roberts (May, Nighstalker).
While this is a BD Selects title, I wouldn’t recommend it if I didn’t like it. But I happened to like it a lot and suggest you seek it out on iTunes (or your VOD provider of choice) ASAP. Check out the report below! READ MORE

The Burrowers director JT Petty‘s Hellbenders 3D certainly looks like one of the more interesting, raw and fun selections from this year’s Midnight Madness programming at TIFF. Now we have a really cool poster that totally complements the 70′s vibe that the whole enterprise seems to have.
“Hellbenders, an R-rated 3D exorcism comedy, follows the Augustine Interfaith Order of Hellbound Saints (Brooklyn Parish), highly secretive and profoundly blasphemous men of God, as they battle demonic forces too terrible to be cast out by traditional Vatican-approved methods. Cast includes Clancy Brown, Clifton Collins Jr., Robyn Rikoon and Andre Royo.”
The film premieres at 11:59 PM on Sunday, September 9th at the Ryerson Theater. Subsequent TIFF showtimes here. The Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 6th-16th. Head inside for the poster! READ MORE
A couple weeks back we brought you some exclusive images from Millenium/Nu Image’s Spiders 3D and now we’ve got another one to share – along with some screening info. This thing looks like it could be a lot of fun if you’re into the “giant species run amok” subgenre.
Today, the Los Angeles 3D Film Festival announced that Spiders 3D will enjoy its world premiere during the festival’s opening night gala celebration on Thursday, September 20th at the Regal Cinemas LA Live Stadium 14 at 10 pm.
In the film, “following the crash of a derelict Soviet space station into a Manhattan subway tunnel, a new species of spider is discovered in the wreckage. But when the spiders mutate to gigantic proportions, an average NYC subway worker (Patrick Muldoon) is forced to step up in order to save his family and all of New York from the destructive giant spiders wreaking havoc throughout the city.”
Directed by Tibor Takacs (The Gate, Ice Spiders), Spiders 3D also stars Christa Campbell, Jon Mack, William Hope and Sydney Sweeney. Head inside for the pic! READ MORE
Walker Pictures and Nishimura Eizo’s Dead Sushi, the latest horror/comedy from acclaimed Japanese director Noboru Iguchi, will World Premiere at Montreal’s prestigious Fantasia International Film Festival on July 22nd, followed shortly thereafter by its Asian Premiere at the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan). Iguchi, best-known for his high-octane 2008 action/comedy The Machine Girl, has become an international sensation with jaw-dropping, boundary-pushing films such as RoboGeisha, Karate-Robo Zaborgar, and Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead.
I recently caught up with Iguchi over email and we talked about his inspiration for the film, its “brutal yet delicious” look and his segment in the upcoming ABC’s Of Death anthology.
The film, which stars 21-year-old martial arts prodigy Rina Takeda, “tells the tale of Keiko, the daughter of a legendary sushi chef, who runs away from home when his kung fu-like regimen becomes too severe. Finding work at a rural hot springs inn, she is ridiculed by the eccentric staff and guests, including the employees of a pharmaceutical firm there on a work vacation. But little do they know that a disgruntled former researcher has also come to the inn with a plan for revenge, using a serum he developed that can awaken the murderous instincts of ordinary sushi, turning it into bloodthirsty monsters! Keiko must use both her sushi training and her martial arts skills to save the others and defeat the flying killers.”
For more on the film you can check out the official website or its Facebook. Head inside for the interview! READ MORE
Bloody-Disgusting is excited to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for Goatwhore
‘s When Steel And Bone Meet
, which comes off their most recent album, Blood For The Master
). The video features the band rocking out in the famous house of horrors, House Of Shock while interspliced cuts of two very scantily clad women lick blood off of each other (I won’t lie, it’s kinda hot). The latter is the reason that I hesitantly give this video a ‘NSFW’ label. I’d rather NOT get you readers fired, know what I mean? Check out the awesome video below!
Goatwhore will be hitting Europe this spring with 3 Inches Of Blood, Angelus Apatrida, and Havok. Tour dates are listed below.
Bloody-Disgusting is excited to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for Charred Walls Of The Damned‘s Zerospan, which comes off of Cold Winds On Timeless Days (iTunes). The video looks like a cross between a Cronenberg film and Tetsuo: Iron Man and shows the dangers of one becoming too hooked into technology (a lesson I desperately need to learn). Also, this video might be a tad NSFW due to graphic content (no nudity though), so keep that in mind while watching. Check out the awesome video below! READ MORE
Bloody-Disgusting Music is beyond excited to bring you the premiere for The Black Dahlia Murder‘s Moonlight Equilibrium music video! The video shows two Victorian-era couples getting their dues when they mock and abuse a butler, who just so happens to be a werewolf. I’ve gotta give this a NSFW rating as their is gore, violence, bare breasts, and sexual themes. Therefore, it’s everything you could want out of a music video! Check out this awesome video below.
The track comes off the band’s latest release, Ritual
. Make sure to pick up a copy on iTunes
if you haven’t done so already.
Bloody-Disgusting is proud to team up with Darkest Era for the exclusive premiere of their video for An Ancient Fire Burns, which comes off their debut album The Last Caress Of Light. Directed by Kieran Majury, the video has strong overtones of Rodrigo Cortés’ Buried.
Comments guitarist Ade Mulgrew: “An Ancient Fire Burns is a song about primal instincts and desire; and in this video we used a narrative that we really hope will grip people. It’s an old school buried-alive-in-coffin concept that compliments the themes in the song. We also shot the band’s performance by torchlight in a 1000 year old monastery, once plundered by Vikings. It was a great setting and really adds to the atmosphere in the video.”
Darkest Era will also be touring the UK with Alestorm and Claim The Throne. Tour dates and the video are below.
BD Music is excited to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for Volumes Wormholes
, which comes off their just-released album VIA
. Volumes will also be part of the Thrash And Burn Tour, which features such acts as Winds Of Plague
, As Blood Runs Black
, and many more. Check out the video and tour dates after the jump. READ MORE
If there is one thing I’ve noticed about you BD Music readers, it’s that you’re big fans of DevilDriver. I’m in 100% agreement as the band kicks all sorts of ass! Well, don’t think I don’t pay attention to you all because BD Music has just scored the exclusive premiere of the new DevilDriver lyric video for You Make Me Sick! Looking like it belongs during the opening credits of Se7en, this video oozes grime, filth and violence, much like the song itself.
Check it out after the jump and enjoy!
