I’m sure deep down a lot of you wished you could be as cool as Mad Max. Well you get the next best thing. You get to play as him in his very own video game! Hooray! The freshly announced game will be an open world 3rd person shooter, but it will also focus heavily on vehicular warfare. You’ll spend your time wandering the wasteland in fighting bandits and building the ultimate combat vehicle. The game is being developed by Avalanche Studios, who are behind the Just Cause series. Check out an awesome announcement trailer past the break. The game will be hitting the consoles hard in 2014 on the PC, Playstation 3 and 4, and the Xbox 360 and One.
Beyond Two Souls is almost like looking a bit in to the future of gaming. This game looks top of the line, and will probably push your Playstation 3 to the brink of explosion while playing it. But it also gives us a peak into how incredible things will look on the Playstation 4. Head past the break to see a ton of new screen shots, as well as an awesome new trailer.
Things have been fairly hush hush about Square Enix’s murder mystery game Murdered: Soul Suspect. If you head past the break however you can see the first official trailer. It looks great, and the leave an obvious hint at the end about E3 this year. So we definitely have more in store for us next week. It also hints a little bit at their next video which looks to show some gameplay. The game is looking to come out on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. Though E3 might spread the game to our upcoming consoles.
If you haven’t heard of it already, Rain is an upcoming PS3 exclusive set in a city at night where it’s always raining. You play as an invisible boy who can only be seen in the rain. There are invisible monsters that are hunting this boy, so that introduces a bit of stealth gameplay as you’re moving from one bit of shelter to the next without being seen. It seems there’s also a bit of Ico in this game, as you soon find a little girl and the two of you try and escape together.
It looks beautiful, haunting, a little sad, and absolutely unique. I can’t wait to see more of it. Read on for its new story trailer.
There’s no doubt that you can’t just take Diablo III and throw it on a console. It has to be carefully and gently taken over and reformed a bit. And one thing that really needs forming is the whole controller situation. Because you have a lot more possibilities with a keyboard, transferring all those key strokes to a controller takes some finesse. Since Diablo III is also coming to the Playstation 4, there is that magical new touch pad sitting so comfortably on the top of the new Dual Shock 4 controller that will also be used to make playing the game easier and more interesting. Head past the break to check out a developer diary and learn all about it. There are no console release dates yet for Diablo III.
Way way back in April Xbox 360 users exclusively got their hands on the latest Call Of Duty: Black Ops II Uprising Multiplayer Map. Well it has finally come to the PC and Playstation 3. Mob of the Dead is exactly as it sounds. Some of your favorite Hollywood mobsters, Ray Liotta, Michael Madsen, Chazz Palminteri and Joe Pantoliano, go up against the dead. Mob of the Dead isn’t a standalone however, it comes as part of the Uprising Map Pack. Get the details on the maps, and the Mob screens past the break. Get the map pack now for 15 bucks on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
Not too many comic related characters gone video games come out very well. But I am incredibly excited for the upcoming Deadpool game. It really looks like they’re going about it the right way. It looks like it doesn’t take itself too seriously, especially because Deadpool himself is quite the jokester. It also looks pretty fun and pretty gory. What more could we ask for? A demo, just in case. Check out some awesome and some hilarious new screens past the break.
Some of the original masters of video game horror are trying to get back to their roots, and get you back to shitting your pants. In this latest developer diary Shock and Panic the devs go into some things they did in the game to freak you the hell out. From increasing the tempo of the music to enemies spawning in random places, it seems the scare factors have been much more thought out than in the past couple games. Check out the video past the break!
Rockstar Games has been a consistent source of truly gritty gaming experiences over the years. Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne — they’re all ultra-violent story-driven games that aren’t quite like anything else out there. They were undeniably dark, yet they pale in comparison to the controversial stealth horror Manhunt series. It never really found the critical or commercial reception required to become a successful series, but that didn’t keep it from finding a substantial cult following.
Soon, you’ll be able to sneak up behind and suffocate more unsuspecting goons with plastic bags when the original Manhunt re-releases on the PS3′s PlayStation Store on May 14th for $9.99. No word yet on whether or not its sequel will be making the same transition.
Announced just about a month ago is a prequel to the Batman Arkham video game series. Arkham Origins will be taking place as Batman is an up and coming superhero and your favorite villains are beginning to surface. Well it’s time we got a glimpse at the game. Head past a break to see some of the first amazing screen shots. The game has a tentative release on October 25th of this year for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the next game in the Wolfenstein franchise and it will be known as Wolfenstein: The New Order. Bethesda is going at it hard with this new Wolfenstein and The Evil Within, and I say cheers to that! The game will be coming out in the 4th quarter of this year, on the PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, AND the next gen consoles. Exciting! They haven’t revealed much more about the game thus far, but I’m thinking it may be a bit more action oriented based on the trailer you can check out past the break. What do you guys think, excited? Nay?
I couldn’t be more excited for the release of Resident Evil Revelations when it comes out on the Xbox 360. If I had a 3DS I would have already played the hell out of it. May 21st it hit’s North America, and the days following it hits the rest of the world. Past the break the devs chat a bit about the importance of infections in Resident Evil, and about the gore. Check it out!
If DreadOut doesn’t satiate your appetite for hunting down those pesky ghosts with a camera than you’re more than welcome to re-experience the horrifying game that was Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly when it releases on PSN next Tuesday. This was, in my humble opinion, the best game in the series, so I’m crazy excited to get my hands on it again. How about you, what was your favorite Fatal Frame?
Not often does a trailer move me with its absolute awesomeness. Well, the launch trailer for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is one of those few. I can sit here and try to explain to you how the Grindhouse trailer guy voices this trailer, or how it’s one of the biggest best nods to 80′s actions flicks. Or about how the game takes place in 2007 because back in the 80s they thought the 2000′s were going to literally look like outer space. Just head past the break and check out cool it is. And buy the game right now on the Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam.
We all know Techland. They brought us the wonderful Dead Island. But now they’re switching things up a bit and bringing you a first person slasher where you fight against the armies of hell. The game looks like a much more demonic version of a Skyrim or Oblivion. And there’s looting. Maybe one of my favorite things ever. My friends despise me for my extra time spent looting. You can enjoy the campaign on your own, or you and up to 3 others can play against each other white fighting each other monsters and racking up points. Head past the break for some screens from the game and look out for it later this year on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
The graphics Quantic Dream cranks out scare me. They scare me into thinking when I play their games my PlayStation is going to melt because it can’t handle it. They recently showed off their latest game Beyond: Two Souls at the Tribeca Film festival, and what a perfect place to show it off because the game is practically a movie itself. Check out the Tribeca trailer past the break, and some amazing screenshots as well. The game will release on October 8th exclusively on the PlayStation 3.
If you haven’t already heard about Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, then you should take a seat if you aren’t already lounged. You like the 80′s right? Who doesn’t?! 80′s action and sci-fi movies? You like them too I’m sure. Well Blood Dragon is an incredible nod to many of your favorites from the 80′s. Take my WORD for it. Head past the break to check out an awesome walk through of some of the game so you can get yourself jazzed up about it. It comes out April 30th in North America and May 1st in Europe. You can also pre-order the incredible soundtrack HERE on iTunes.
A big issue a lot of gamers have with the most recent Resident Evil games is that Capcom is pulling further and further out of the horror genre. Resident Evil: Revelations is the exception. When creating the game developers wanted to recreate some of the feelings and fears players got from earlier games in the series. But one has to wonder if such a thing could ever be the same again. Sure you can add more scares and less action, but you can’t take away the crystal clear graphics and updated game play. Or could you? Head past the break to see the 1st developer diary “Heritage and Horror” for Resident Evil: Revelations. May 21st on the PC, Playstation 3, WiiU, and Xbox 360. Also keep an eye out for the games demo which you can find soon in all the platforms online shops.
PSN is having an insane sale right now that includes deals on Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, Thomas Was Alone and essentially the entire Resident Evil franchise. The deals end on April 30th, so if you fancy the idea of getting Resident Evil on the cheap, this is the time.
Seriously, if the Merchant were here, he’d look at these deals and promptly have a stroke. Check them out after the jump.
The Souls series has what you would call, quite the reputation. No, it isn’t a game that sells Call Of Duty numbers, or blows us out of the water with earth shattering graphics and game play. (No, I’m not saying either of those are bad) The series is known for being brutal, and relentless. In the killing of you throughout the campaign. You can almost look at playing the games like a personal challenge. See how far you can get before you huck your controller through a window or punch a baby. I usually hit the baby first. If you head past the break you can check out the dramatic Global Gamers Day trailer and some screenshots. Dark Souls II is out next year on the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
It’s getting to the point in time I think where I need to pick up Call Of Duty: Black Ops II. Not so much for anything besides zombies mode. Though I do enjoy the multiplayer. In the new zombies map Mob Of The Dead, you will find yourselves playing Hollywood mobster superstars Billy Handsome (Ray Liotta), Al “The Weasel” Arlington (Joe Pantoliano), Salvatore “Sal” DeLuca (Chaz Palmentiri), and Michael “Finn” O’Leary (Michael Madsen). Check out the awesome new trailer past the break specifically for the new map. The new Uprising Map Pack which includes Mob Of The Dead and 4 new regular maps released April 16th.
Thanks to Lonnie for the heads up on this. Coming May 1st as a standalone downloadable game is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. From the video it seems it doesn’t actually have anything to do with Far Cry 3, though there could be some nods later in the game. The guys over at IGN got a chance to check out the first 15 minutes of the game, and god damn does it look like fun. The game gives off a hardcore 80′s action movie vibe, and it’s hilarious and knows it. Right off the bat from the music, to achievements to the dialogue, it starts referencing some of classics from that magical era. Check out the video past the break. Trust me it’s worth watching through to the end.
I’m incredibly excited for The Last Of Us. I love developer videos for games, because you don’t quite understand how much goes into a game until you see them. In this latest video, which you can check out past the break, the team goes in depth on extensive lighting, dead foliage, and much more. The Last Of Us comes out June 14th exclusively for the Playstation 3.
Yes you heard it right, it looks as if our pal Bruce Wayne will be going the Lara Croft route. Batman Arkham Origins will take Batman back to the early days of his career. The game takes place years before the events of Arkham Asylum and before crime has overcome Gotham. You will play as an unrefined Batman, and meet a lot of classic characters in the story of an up and coming Batman. Also announced is Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. It allows you to continue the Origins campaign on Nintendo and Sony’s handheld systems. Blackgate will be a 2.5D “companion game” to Origins. Origins will be releasing October 25th of this year on the PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and WiiU. Head past the break if you’d like to gander at some pack shots.
