New ‘Byzantium’ Quad Offers High Praise

Arriving on VOD and in limited theaters June 28 is Neil Jordan’s Byzantium, which was acquired by IFC Films out of the Toronto International Film Festival. A new UK quad has hit with some rather glowing praise, with one blurb in particular claiming it’s the best vampire film since Let The Right One In (I’ve got an open mind, but we’ll see about that).

Starring Gemma Arterton, Saoirse Ronan, Caleb Landry Jones, Danny Mays, Bradley James, Sam Riley, Jonny Lee Miller and Tom Hollander, the pic is about a pair of women who claim to be vampire siblings.

On the run for murder, two young “sisters” arrive penniless at an English seaside town. Clara is a fiercely modern woman who has her eyes on the future and no time for the past. Teenager Eleanor is shy and innocent. Yet they both hide the same secrets: they are really mother and daughter, and they are both … vampires!READ MORE

Banner Resident evil retribution alice milla jovovich New Poster For Resident Evil: Retribution Has Alice Doing... What She Normally Does

UPDATE: As pointed out by reader “DJBlack1313″ and confirmed by Sony Pics, it’s not an official one-sheet.

Sony Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: Retribution, has debuted another quad style poster, courtesy of Cine 1. This one is more or less in keeping with what we’ve seen from the film, which is to say that it has a much wider scope than any of the other entries in the series thus far. This one features Alice superimposed above the city, those ever present planes in the air and of course her even more ever present gun… um… present.

In theaters September 21, “The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, ALICE (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe and Li Bing Bing all star. Paul W.S. Anderson, who kicked off the franchise in 2002, directs once again. Head inside for the image! READ MORE

‘The Woman in Black’ Controls The Dead Children

Updated with hi-res version!

I haven’t been a huge fan of any of the one-sheets for The Woman Black, which is why I’m extremely bummed that we don’t have a hi-res version of the latest official poster. The newest piece of art displays the haunting tagline “She’ll never let go…” with the title character watching over a group of ghostly children. It’s an homage to the classic cover of the novel!

In theaters February 3 from CBS Films and director James Watkins, “The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. Weak Sauce UK Quad for ‘The Woman in Black’

While CBS launched the hype with an off the charts amazing trailer, Alliance in the UK pulled it back a bit with a very lackluster and trite quad one sheet for The Woman in Black featuring star Daniel Radcliffe and the lame tagline: “Do you believe in ghosts?” Ooooohhhhh scarrrrryyyyy.

In theaters February 3, 2012 from Eden Lake director James Watkins, “The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers.
