Bennett Walsh said at the Shanghai International Film Festival the third film involves the revenge of two killers whose arms and eyes were hacked by Uma Thurman in the first stories.
The fourth instalment of the popular kung fu action films concerns a cycle of reprisals and daughters who avenge their mother’s deaths.
Fans of Robert Rodriguez and his From Dusk Till Dawn might want to make an appointment with Univision in the coming months. The director has announced a partnership with the network via his own English language cable outlet El Rey Network.
Among the projects announced at the presentation were a TV his Quentin Tarintino’s vampire collaboration and movie “an as yet unnamed action series” from “Fringe” and Star Trek Into Darkness producer/writers Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci. Before we get too excited – remember that From Dusk Till Dawn has had two DTV follow-ups, where you a fan of those?
El Rey is set to launch at the end of the year via Comcast. Univision will be responsible for the back office operations, sales and distribution of the network.
There are many directors out there who will probably never make a horror film, but are stylistically idiosyncratic enough that we can safely assume what it might be like if they tried. With any luck, someday one of these hypothetical films will become a reality. Except the Judd Apatow one. No one wants that.

Tarantino’s latest western blood-bath took over theatres last week. If you haven’t seen Django Unchained, go do that now. Also released was issue #1 of the comic adaptation from Vertigo, which almost religiously follows Tarantino original script, including scenes not in the film. Below is a sweet look at one of the variant covers for issue #2. READ MORE
While out promoting his awesome (but not quite as awesome as Inglourious Basterds) Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino stopped by the Craig Ferguson show. One thing lead to another and they got on the topic of Prometheus.
Now, I liked Prometheus (so did Tarantino as it turns out), but you have to admit there are a ton of character inconsistencies in the film. Here, Tarantino speaks out against one of the most egregious and oft-cited moments. He doesn’t exactly say anything new, but he adds a certain Tarantino flair to the whole thing that kind of makes it worthwhile.
Head inside to check it out. Prometheus talk begins at around 4:45. READ MORE

Full details for the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film Django Unchained have been released, including cover art and track listing, which you can see below. For the first time in his film career, Tarantino collaborated with artists to create entirely original music. The album will be available in stores and at all digital retailers on Dec. 18th while the film comes out on Christmas Day, Dec. 25th.
Tarantino states, “I want to thank all the artists who contributed original songs (a first for me) to the picture. Most of these contributions came out of the artists’ own inspiration and their illustration of the film’s soul is invaluable. In addition to the new original songs I am also using a lot of older recordings on the soundtrack – many of which came from my personal vinyl collection. Instead of having the record companies give me new digitally cleaned up versions of these recordings from the 60′s and 70′s, I wanted to use the vinyl I’ve been listening to for years – complete with all the pops and cracks. I even kept the sound of the needle being put down on the record. Basically because I wanted people’s experience to be the same as mine when they hear this soundtrack for the first time.” READ MORE

Straying a bit out of the normal Bloody-Disgusting fare, I sat down with Guano Padano’s latest album, 2, this weekend. I was seduced into checking it out when I learned that Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) did a guest appearance on one of the songs. If Mike Patton decided that this album was good enough to do some vocal work on, you better believe that I’m very intrigued and want to check it out. READ MORE
Bringing back the kung-fu grindhouse gore flicks that inspired producers Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino, RZA’s The Man With The Iron Fists looks to be a melange of the insane and excessive. A western sized buffet of eastern dishes. And now a second red band (NSFW) trailer has hit. Unfortunately I can’t even really tell the difference between this one and the last. While the internet is ablaze with this “new” trailer”, I want you to take a look and tell me if you can see any differences. New title cards, a new character card here and there but that’s about it, right?
Russell Crowe, Pam Grier, Jamie Chung, Lucy Liu, and RZA all star in the flick. “In feudal China, a blacksmith (RZA) who makes weapons for a small village is put in the position where he must defend himself and his fellow villagers.”
Head inside to check it out! I’ve included the first one below the second so you can compare and contrast. List the differences in the comments! READ MORE

Bringing back the kung-fu grindhouse gore flicks that inspired produced Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino, RZA revealed the first eye-popping still from The Man With the Iron Fists. A documentary on DIY producer/director Roger Corman and his alternative approach to making movies in Hollywood.
Spindrift has released the first of several videos, ‘Theme From Confusion Range’, from their album ‘Classic Soundtracks’. The plan is to release a new video every three weeks, each video representing the song in a different movie style. I’m all for it and think the idea is really quite awesome, especially considering how inventive these guys will need to get. Word is that there might be a horror-inspired one, although one could easily make connections between this video and movies like ‘Last House On The Left’ and Tarantino’s ‘Death Proof’. Check it out below and let me know what you think.
Psychedelic band Spindrift have announced their next album as ‘Classic Soundtracks’ and expect it to be out this spring. The strange concept behind this album is that each song is based off of a movie the band conceived in their minds. Trippy, huh? To further this concept, each song will have its own music video, each done by a different director. The first video to come out will be for the song ‘Theme From Confusion Range’ and is directed by Simon Chan who did Dead Meadow’s ‘The Three Kings’. Here’s the cool part: frontman Kirpatrick Thomas says “It’s an homage to 70′s slasher films and was filmed in Joshua Tree, California.” Count me among the intrigued!

Vibe.com is reporting that The RZA (Wu-Tang Clan) is directing, starring and co-writing ‘The Man With The Iron Fist’. He will also be providing the music and beats for the movie. The $20 million budget film centers around the RZA who is a blacksmith in a village, making weapons for the villagers to defend themselves. The movie will be produced by Quentin Tarantino and stars Lucy Liu and Russel Crowe. Filming is currently underway in China.

NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD is the wild, untold story of “OZPLOITATION” movies – a time when Australian cinema got its gear off and showed the world a full-frontal explosion of sex, violence, horror and foot-to-the-floor, full bore action! Jam packed full of outrageous anecdotes, lessons in maverick filmmaking and a genuine, infectious love of Australian movies, NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD is a fast moving journey through Aussie genre cinema of the 70s and early 80s – an unjustly forgotten cinematic era unashamedly packed full of boobs, pubes, tubes… and even a little kung fu.
Set during “The Genpei Wars” at the end of the 1100s, the Minamoto and Taira gangs face off in a town named Yuda, while a deadly gunman (Ito Hideaki) comes to the aid of the townsfolk.
Set in Sin City, the film interconnects storylines that involve the unsavory inhabitants of the town.
