Finnish love metal band HIM have released a new music video for “All Lips Go Blue”, which comes from their new album Tears On Tape (iTunes). The Eugene Riecansky-directed black and white video is highly stylized and reminded me a great deal of Alice In Wonderland, with a larger than life chessboard and eerie, almost skeleton-like trees. Give it a watch below! READ MORE

Razor & Tie have announced the addition of Finnish rock band HIM to their N. American roster. The band recently finished work on their eighth studio album Tears On Tape, which is set for an Apr. 30th release date. The album was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa and mixed by Tim Palmer (U2, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, Robert Plant)
HIM lead vocalist Ville Valo comments, “We´re infernally glad to be dressed sharply enough for our dearest comrades in the U.S. (for once), R&T A-Go-Go!!!”
Razor & Tie A&R Executive Mike Gitter adds, “Few artists are able to tap into rock at its most emotional and forlorn and make it sound so damn uplifting and powerful. That’s Ville Valo and HIM’s stock-in-trade. They take the rawest of emotions and channel them into unforgettable anthems- invoking the spirit of great rock n roll in the process.”

‘Rage’ is the Artery/Razor & Tie debut album by Atlanta, GA so-called ‘’party death metal’’ band Attila. From this description I came into reviewing this album hoping to hear some music that made me want to head bang a bit, grab a few beers, etc… Y’know, get into the mood to party and rock out, right? Well, I’ll say this: I bobbed my head along for a few sections, but… Well, read on.

NORMA JEAN has revealed the cover art for their upcoming fifth album Meridional in a unique way. With an intense, self-generated video that also debuts a snippet of a new song. The clip, which debuted yesterday on AOL’s Noisecreep is now up on the band’s website and You Tube.
“We take a lot of pride in all the art we use,” Norma Jean vocalist Cory Brandan told Noisecreep yesterday. “Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy. This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we’ve ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we’ve ever had. The art was done by Jason Oda of Starvingeyes.com
. I’ve been a fan of his work for years, and it was really awesome to have him working with us. The song in this video is a clip from the song ‘The Anthem of the Angry Brides,’ which is track two on the new record. I made this video myself.”
Meridional is set for release on July 13. Norma Jean will tour in support of it on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
Fans of Norma Jean won’t have to wait much longer to hear the bands’ fifth album ‘Meridional’ which will be released July 13th on Razor & Tie. ’Meridional’ revisits the abrasive and chaotic roots of classic Norma Jean while offering fans a dark experimental side – the band stretching out on moody, slow-burn jams. It is an album that finds the band comfortable in its legacy but progressive and bold in its creativity.
‘Meridional’ was recorded in February 2010 at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta with producer Jeremy Griffith. The band recorded eleven official tracks for the record as well as a few extra bonus tracks and B-sides. Vocalist Cory Brandan described ‘Meridional’, “It’s a heavy record, multifaceted with epic sounding, experimental songs, some fast, chaotic songs, and some melodic, commanding interludes. Any track we didn’t think had reached its utmost sonic prowess was given a second look, revised to be as powerful as possible.”
Fronz, singer of the Atlanta, Georgia party metal band Attila sent over a list of his Top 10 horror films. Check it out after the jump to see if your favorite is on the list!
Attila has a new album, ‘Rage’, coming out May 11th and they are on a constant touring schedule for the next several months in support of this album. Some of the bands they are touring with include Dr. Acula, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Sky Eats Airplane, Sleeping With Sirens, Blind Witness, A Hero A Fake, and more. You can check them out at their Official MySpace HERE
All That Remains fans can rejoice. The band is set to begin recording the follow up to 2008’s Overcome, their biggest-selling release to date. Pre-production begins this week at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA on the as-yet-untitled album. Returning to the producer’s chair is Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam D who previously helmed the band’s 2006 release The Fall Of Ideals as well as 2004’s This Darkened Heart.
The band is obviously stoked about getting back to work with their buddy. “So I’m home from six weeks filling in on vocals for Killswitch, get to our practice space, and there’s Adam D again!!! FUGG!!!” joked ATR’s lead singer Phil Labonte exclusively to Noisecreep.com. “We’re in ‘time to make the donuts’ mode, and the donuts are metal tunes! We’re pumped to be working with Adam again. Nothin’ like making music in the spring with good friends in Massachusetts.”
Attila will release their Artery Recordings / Razor & Tie debut, ‘Rage’, on May 11th. The band, made up of Fronz (vocals), Nate (guitar), Chris (guitar), Sean (drums) and Paul (bass) is the fourth addition to the Artery/Razor & Tie joint venture. A self-proclaimed “party death metal” band, Attila are sure to spark interest and energy amongst the metal scene.
Coming from Atlanta, the members of Attila were influenced by a wide and eclectic range of artists from dirty south rappers to assorted metal bands. Their new album showcases the impression the Atlanta music scene instills with the band. Regarding the meaning behind ‘Rage’, lead singer Fronz stated, “The title can be perceived in many ways, one obviously being a state of extreme anger, and the other being its more obvious slang meaning – to party! I have always been a fan of play-on-words and double meanings, and that’s what drew me to this title more than anything.”
