33devilinsidehiresgalery010212 [BD Review] The Devil Inside Vs. Bloody Staff, Film Could Top $30 Million

I wasn’t anticipating the BD staff being so overtly excited for The Devil Inside, and with that I present to you three more reviews (one being a video review) for the found footage exorcism film that’s breaking the bank. Two take Evan Dickson’s corner, while one thought it was fantastic. Where do you stand? write your own review here.

In addition, according to THR, the flick is scaring up massive business at the domestic box office, where it’s now on course to open as high as $30 million. This is a huge change from the original numbers. Heading into the weekend, Paramount indicated that Devil Inside would open in the $8 million to $10 million range, but that number has been revised upward in light of the film’s midnight performance Thursday night, followed by strong matinee business. Devil Inside earned $2 million in its midnight runs.

Get over it people, found footage horror is here to stay (and I’m OK with that). Now read on for a trilogy of new reviews! READ MORE

It was hard to stay on top of things with the holidays looming over the release of The Devil Inside (review). [BD Review] ‘The Devil Inside’ Carries Scares, Yet Frustrating Conclusion

2devilinsidehiresgalery010212 [BD Review] The Devil Inside Carries Scares, Yet Frustrating Conclusion

Paramount Insurge’s found footage exorcism flick The Devil Inside is now in theaters everywhere. Evan Dickson attended the premiere in Hollywood to bring you one of the first official reviews of the completed feature, explaining that it’s kind of OK until the third act; the ending, well, it’s gonna piss a lot of people off.

While there’s enough scares, general creepiness and gore to give it a soft recommend to those hard up for a horror fix, the fact that it doesn’t fully function as a movie can’t be overlooked. Also, it has no third act. So if you’re into things like satisfying resolutions you might want to give this one a pass.

Reverend Bob Larson Has Performed Over 15,000 Exorcisms And Thinks You Should See ‘The Devil Inside’!

Reverend Bob Larson Has Performed Over 15,000 Exorcisms And Thinks You Should See The Devil Inside!

Paramount’s The Devil Inside is just about to hit theaters and while I haven’t seen it yet – I’ve talked to a very experienced person who has.

Reverend Bob Larson has been pretty busy the past 30 years. He claims to have performed over 15,000 exorcisms during that time. More than one a day on average. I had the chance to speak with him earlier this week about his “real-life” experiences and how the movies stack up against them. Particularly The Devil Inside.

While I’m not entirely sure I believe in demonic possession myself, Larson certainly claims to and was willing to speak at length about it.

In 1989, emergency responders received a 9-1-1 call from Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) confessing that she had brutally killed three people. 20 years later, her daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade) seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night. She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy where her mother has been locked away to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to cure her mom using unconventional methods combining both science and religion, they come face-to-face with pure evil in the form of four powerful demons possessing Maria. Many have been possessed by one; only one has been possessed by many.

The Devil Inside hits theaters on January 6th, 2012. Hit the jump to check out the interview and a video of Larson performing an “exorcism”! READ MORE

Continuing their opposite trend used in promoting Paranormal Activity, Paramount Insurge has released a slew of hi-res new imagery from The Devil Inside that continues to be cryptic. All we know is that there are plenty of exorcisms, and even more screaming.
