[FrightFest '12] Trailer for WWIII Horror ‘Remnants’!

Directed by Peter Engert, and starring C.J. Thomason (Harper’s Island, Husk), Monica Keena (Freddy vs. Jason), Edward Furlong (American History X, Terminator 2), Andre Royo (The Wire), Christine Kelly and Jessie Rusu (Mother’s Day), Remnants had its World Premiere at this month’s UK Film4 FrightFest in London.

We’ve now scored the film’s official trailer that premiered along with the film this past weekend.

“World War III has happened and the USA is in meltdown. Nine strangers find themselves holed up together in a farmhouse cellar in rural Texas. Young Dr Hunter survived the nuclear attack and is thrown together by chance with a group of wounded and frightened victims. Hunter and his slowly dying companions wait for news from the government while fending off hunger, claustrophobia, conflicting personalities, radiation sickness and hordes of terrified, dying refugees as they attempt to endure the devastating holocaust. Peter Engert’s haunting, moving and remarkably assured chronicle of final catastrophe.”

We’ve landed a handful of bloody exclusive imagery for the horror flick premiering Saturday, August 25 (tickets here).

Did I hear you say you wanted more out of the forthcoming Film4 FrightFest? Taking place Thursday, August 23 to Monday, August 27, the UK’s leading event for horror fantasy fans will be back at the Empire Cinema in London’s Leicester Square to present 48 films in three screens. (Check out the festivals official website for ticket info.)

We’ve already covered Paco Plaza’s [REC]3 Genesis and Jaume Balaguero’s, stunning thriller Sleep Tight to death, but there’s a few films getting some well-deserved attention from such as Hidden in the Woods, a Chilean chiller, the Dutch Kill Zombie!, the Japanese Dead Sushi and Germany’s Errors of the Human Body and We Are the Night.

Also under the radar but bound to get people buzzing are Steven C Miller’s Under the Bed, Ryan Smith’s After, The Butcher Brothers’ The Thompsons, Peter Engert’s Remnants, Stig Svendsen’s Elevator and Buddy Giovinazzo’s return to the genre A Night of Nightmares.

Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap! I’m sure some of you have already sat through the insufferable bootleg copy of this Dark Knight Rises trailer, but now you can enjoy it in all it’s HD glory! This is an incredibly epic trailer to say the least, offering a first real peak at Bane. In case you’re wondering what Bane mumbles under his mask, he says “When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die.” That’ll give you the chills. Check the trailer below!
