Some of the original masters of video game horror are trying to get back to their roots, and get you back to shitting your pants. In this latest developer diary Shock and Panic the devs go into some things they did in the game to freak you the hell out. From increasing the tempo of the music to enemies spawning in random places, it seems the scare factors have been much more thought out than in the past couple games. Check out the video past the break!
I couldn’t be more excited for the release of Resident Evil Revelations when it comes out on the Xbox 360. If I had a 3DS I would have already played the hell out of it. May 21st it hit’s North America, and the days following it hits the rest of the world. Past the break the devs chat a bit about the importance of infections in Resident Evil, and about the gore. Check it out!
A big issue a lot of gamers have with the most recent Resident Evil games is that Capcom is pulling further and further out of the horror genre. Resident Evil: Revelations is the exception. When creating the game developers wanted to recreate some of the feelings and fears players got from earlier games in the series. But one has to wonder if such a thing could ever be the same again. Sure you can add more scares and less action, but you can’t take away the crystal clear graphics and updated game play. Or could you? Head past the break to see the 1st developer diary “Heritage and Horror” for Resident Evil: Revelations. May 21st on the PC, Playstation 3, WiiU, and Xbox 360. Also keep an eye out for the games demo which you can find soon in all the platforms online shops.
I did some serious slacking the past 2 years and didn’t post my Best Horror Game articles like I did from 2007-2009. But I’m going to make it all up to you guys now. It’s easy for me to post my favorite horror games of the year, but I’m more curious about what games YOU guys liked the best. So if you head past the break you can look at my hand clicked selections from last year. Choose your favorite from the list, and then we can crown the winner! The poll will go for a couple weeks, or until I decide it has fizzled out! Head past the break to see your choices and to vote!
If you are like me, you love dual joysticks. It was pretty stupid foolish of Nintendo to release the 3DS with only 1 stick, but they have almost always been a 1 stick kind of company. Also, playing a game like Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS can be quite the challenge. But now, there is the 3DS Circle Pad Pro you can get exclusively from Gamestop. The Pro only costs 20 dollars, so it’s not a major hit to your wallet, and can really help your gaming situation.
I know if I ever end up getting a 3DS, this will be purchased right along side it. I will also be mailing Nintendo a punch in the mouth for not already having dial sticks on it. READ MORE
Resident Evil: Revelations is out, and if you aren’t convinced you want it, you should download the demo. Play it. Love it. Buy it. Give it to me, and give me your 3DS. The one problem I had with the demo was moving around with 1 joystick got to be quite the hassle. Well my friends, the article above will solve that very problem for you. Below is some excellent gameplay that should get you in the mode for the game, and get your giblets all warm and gooey. Or something. It’s late.
A lot of you are hemming and hawing at the fact that this upcoming Resident Evil is going to be on the Nintendo 3DS. Well, suck it up babies. Because it’s looking awesome. It will probably turn out to be one of the best 3rd person shooters on any hand held system ever. Yeah, I said it.
Revelations will bridge the gap between Resident Evil 4 and 5. Not too much else is known about the game as of right now, but we are looking at a return of classic puzzle solving, and exploration that brought us to love the series when it 1st started. We’re also at some settings on a ship, a port town, a snowy mountain, and more. Screens and my wish for an epic video game merger beyond the break. READ MORE
Capcom is still keeping a tight lid on Resident Evil Revelations and it’s eating at my brain wanting to know anything at all about the story. Until then all we have are these screen shots. Sexy sexy screen shots. Check them out past the break.
The game has no release date obviously since we know nothing about the game, and it is for the Nintendo 3DS only. READ MORE
Though we didn’t get to see any sneak peaks at a Resident Evil 6 at this years E3, we did however get a peek at Resident Evil Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS. And a sneak peek is pretty much it. Check out the video below.

Nintendo’s next handheld is going to be big; it has an amazing arsenal of features, impressive specs, and an increasingly powerful developer/publisher support base. There are a couple dozen titles coming to the platform but one of the newest unveilings is a brand new installment in the Resident Evil franchise, entitled Revelations.
If this bunch of screens is anything to go by, Revelations is looking mighty fine. Check out some gorgeous screens taken from the game’s pre-rendered cinematics, after the jump. READ MORE
