The Paul W.S. Anderson directed Resident Evil: Retribution 3D hits theaters today. The film stars Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Colin Salmon, Michelle Rodriguez, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Johann Urb, Oded Fehr, Kevin Durand and Li Bingbing. And now Brad (Mr. Disgusting) writes in with his review! He didn’t love the movie, but thinks it will certainly satisfy fans of the series. I tend to agree – I think it’s the best one of the bunch.

“Good or bad, it’s time to be honest – the sole reason any of us watch these movies is to see Milla Jovovich kicking ass in a skintight outfit. This time we’re also blessed with Sienna Guillory squeezed into a tight blue Jill Valentine costume (even though her acting was appalling). Still, I couldn’t help but wish that Michelle Rodriguez had a larger role. In fact, it made me wish she had a bigger role in everything. I can only hope that with the inevitable sixth installment she becomes “the” villain.”

In theaters September 14, Sony Screen Gems has issued two new TV spots for the Paul W.S. Anderson-directed Resident Evil: Retribution 3D, which also stars Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Colin Salmon, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Michelle Rodriguez, Johann Urb, Oded Fehr, Kevin Durand and Li Bingbing.
They very much keep the tone that’s been established in prior trailers, but add some interesting new elements. Floods, Kevin Durand etc… I’ve been revisiting the series this week for an upcoming piece and I’m interested in how all of this will play out.
“The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.”

Resident Evil: Retribution is only a few months off and now we have a new banner/billboard poster that you guys will likely be seeing a lot more of around town (depending on where you live). The “Alice In Wonderland” pun is beyond iffy, but if you’re a fan of the series it’s a nice image.

UPDATE: As pointed out by reader “DJBlack1313″ and confirmed by Sony Pics, it’s not an official one-sheet.
Sony Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: Retribution, has debuted another quad style poster, courtesy of Cine 1. This one is more or less in keeping with what we’ve seen from the film, which is to say that it has a much wider scope than any of the other entries in the series thus far. This one features Alice superimposed above the city, those ever present planes in the air and of course her even more ever present gun… um… present.
