SERJ TANKIAN Squashes Reunion Buzz For SYSTEM OF A DOWN

A couple weeks ago bassist Shavo Odadjian posted a comment on his Twitter stating, “Are you guys ready for System???”. Drawing from this statement it would seem as if a possible System Of A Down reunion was in affect. Not the case.

When frontman Serj Tankian was asked if this were true he quickly had this to say…

“We always have offers to play, from festivals and stuff, but we have not decided to do anything as of yet,” Serj tells Billboard.com. “We’re in touch. We talk. We call it indefinite hiatus, and that’s how we still look at it. Nothing’s really changed.” READ MORE

SOUNDGARDEN To Reunite After A 12 Year Hiatus?

Well, happy new year! With nothing but a few cryptic messages to go by, it appears as if Soundgarden will be gracing us with their presence in the music scene once again. Posted on their official website and Chris Cornell’s twitter we get this “The 12 year break is over and school is back in session. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!”.

One can only assume this means a full reunion and Chris Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd and drummer Matt Cameron are going to be rocking together for the first time since 1997 when the band broke up over creative differences. Seems like a perfect way for Chris Cornell to redeem himself after a barrage of negative reviews surrounding his latest solo release Scream, which was produced by Timbaland. READ MORE

Original BIOHAZARD Lineup To Hit The Studio Next Month

Biohazard was always a guilty pleasure of mine, I’d blast Urban Discipline in my car but for some reason would always turn it down as soon as I hit my high school parking lot and put on something like Symbolic by Death instead. Now quite a few years later I’m secure enough in my metal-manhood to say yeah big deal, I was just singing along to 5 Blocks To The Subway. Biohazard might not be shredding riffs and tearing faces of with insane drum fills, but their blend of punk/hardcore/metal was always something different that I appreciated.

Evan Seinfeld is taking a break from his porn-star alter ego “Spyder Jonez” to meet up with Billy Graziadei, Danny Schuler and Bobby Hambel and record the first new Biohazard studio album since 2005. They’ll be entering Los Angeles’ Underground Sounds Studio on January 19th.
