Revival Selection Gets Priced, Feast Your Eyes On Some New Gameplay

Just last week it was revealed that HD versions of both Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X would be releasing on PSN and XBLA in September. RE4 will come out on the 20th with Code Veronica following a week later on the 27th. When it comes to gameplay we really haven’t been able to see much of what these games look like in action, but today, that changes. Below you can sneak a peek at the new and improved Resident Evil 4 and after the jump you’ll find some Code Veronica gameplay.

Having played Resident Evil 4 off and on a handful of times since it’s release, the upgrade in visuals is very noticeable – the textures are crisper and everything is clearer, like you’re seeing what the world really looks like after wearing glasses for the first time. Or maybe you’ve spent your entire life crying, seeing the world through a veil of tears until finally, you heard my sultry voice in the Dead Pixels podcast, immediately cheered up, and can now see a world that isn’t clouded by tears. Head past the break for some Code Veronica gameplay and a batch of new screenshots. READ MORE

Resident Evil Revival Selection Coming This September

Capcom’s revitalizing two classic Resident Evil titles, with hopefully more to come in the future, and thanks to Comic-Con we finally have release dates for both Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X. The good news is we won’t have to wait long as both games are releasing this September.

2 Resident Evil Revival Selection Coming This September

Resident Evil 4 will become available on September 20 with Code Veronica X following a week later on the 27th. Still no word on what these games are charging but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were somewhere around the premium arcade game price of $15. READ MORE

Achievement List Unlocked for Resident Evil 4 HD

It seemed like it was only yesterday when we got our first look at Code Veronica’s Achievements, a list that would get even the least Resident Evil-friendly gamers salivating at its easy achievements. Most are story based, meaning you’ll have a majority of them unlocked by the end of the game, and Resident Evil 4′s cheevos look to be much of the same. My personal favorite is “Do Not Shoot the Water,” because I totally did after hearing from a friend that something happens if I do. Needless to say when that something happened I screamed like a little girl. Whereas I usually scream like a pre-pubescent boy.

I’ve included the full list of achievements after the jump, and for those of you who might be as lazy as me, I also threw in Code Veronica’ list. Why? Because I fucking love you, that’s why. READ MORE

Japan’s Getting A Kickass Resident Evil Anniversary Bundle, and I’m Jealous

Japan gets a lot of cool shit. Things like Fatal Frame IV, that likely won’t be seeing the light of day anywhere else, or the Silent Hill Sound Box that brings together all of the series’ fantastic soundtracks into one super cool package, and now they’re getting an amazing Resident Evil Anniversary bundle that includes the upcoming Revival Selection. I’m a total geek for any cool gamer swag, especially when said swag is horror-related, so there’s a very good chance I’ll be flying my lazy ass out to Japan just so I can pick this thing up. Or maybe I could have it imported? Yeah, that sounds way easier.

6 Japans Getting A Kickass Resident Evil Anniversary Bundle, and Im Jealous

The bundle includes an overwhelming amount of sweet Resident Evil goodies and will be available exclusively in Japan on September 8th. Head past the jump for a breakdown of everything this bundle includes, just try not to cry. READ MORE

HD Resident Evil 4 & Code Veronica X Will Come With 1,000 Achievement Points Each

Hello, my name is Adam, and I have an addiction. It all started back in 2005 when the Xbox 360 launched with a brand new feature: achievements. They seemed harmless at first, but my love of what I affectionately refer to as “Cheevos” has blown up into a full on obsession to get as many as humanly possible. There are some gamers who think achievements single-handedly ruined gaming. Those people definitely aren’t gamerscore whores. Sadly, I am, and that’s why this news warms my cold, dead heart so much.

Capcom’s upcoming Revival Selection, due out this autumn, gives us the opportunity to experience two fantastic games in the series, Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X, with a brand new paint job. We’ve already had a substantial look at the two games’ new looks, but if their crisper visuals weren’t enough of a reason to check them out when they go downloadable later this year than perhaps 1,000 achievement points are enough motivation. Head past the break for Code Veronica’s achievements, hopefully we’ll get the deets (that’s hipster slang for “details,” I know because I’m real hip) on Resident Evil 4′s Cheevos soon. READ MORE

Resident Evil Revival Selection’s Trailer Shows Off Its New Look

Earlier today Capcom released a new trailer for their upcoming Revival Selection that bundles HD versions of both Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X. The video shows off each of the games’ crisp new looks by comparing gameplay from the originals to their upcoming remastered versions. They’ll be released in Japan on September 8th for ¥4,490 ($56) on a single Blu-ray disc for the PS3 and two discs for the Xbox 360. While no release date has been revealed for the North American games, we know they’ll be downloadable on XBLA and PSN sometime later this year.

They’re looking pretty good. Having gone through Resident Evil 4 at least a dozen times across all the platforms it was released on I’m looking forward to spending some more time with what I affectionately refer to as its sexy version. I only played through Code Veronica once so that’s also high on my to do list, I just hope I can get past the awful controls. READ MORE

Resident Evil Revival Selection Might Fetch A High Price This September

Remember those HD versions of Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X that were revealed back in March? Well, if this yet to be confirmed rumor from the latest issue of Famitsu is correct, Japan might be getting some crisp and sexy Resident Evil action this September. But please, don’t get too excited just yet. Famitsu is a Japanese gaming magazine so even if this is true the September 8th release date might only be for Japan. There’s no word on if this goes for the rest of us as well.

3 Resident Evil Revival Selection Might Fetch A High Price This September

The reported price of the Revival Selection is ¥4,490, or roughly the price of a new game (56 bucks). Not a bad deal since the bundle includes HD versions of two fantastic Resident Evil games. Sadly, many lazier gamers like myself will have to get up to swap discs since the Xbox 360 version will come on two while the PS3 version will ship on a single blu-ray disc. Supposedly, the bundle will also bring with it a digital version of the two Resident Evil Archives books, so that’s a nice bonus for those who missed them. READ MORE
