‘Black Ops II’ Revolution DLC Brings Us One Step Closer To Getting A Standalone ‘Call Of Duty’ Zombie Game

Seriously, Treyarch, let’s drop this charade. You know it, and I know it — you need to develop a standalone zombie game. Activision recently unveiled some details on the next expansion for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, dubbed Revolution. Unlike the DLC for the previous games in the series, Revolution brings with it a brand zombie spanking new game mode called Turned. In it, players will finally be given the opportunity to play as the undead, who must hunt the lone human. The zombie that takes the poor sap down becomes human and has to defend against the coming hordes. Looks like good fun.

The DLC also adds a bunch of maps, including one called Die Rise, which takes place inside a damaged skyscraper. It’ll have a focus on verticality, so watch your footing when you’re high up. Check out a video preview of the upcoming DLC, after the jump.

TV: Watch The Entire Pilot For J.J. Abrams’ “Revolution” NOW!

From J.J. Abrams, NBC’s “Revolution,” which premieres September 17 at 10 pm, stars Tracy Spiridakos, Billy Burke, Graham Rogers, JD Pardo and Zak Orth. Hulu is offering the entire pilot presentation a full 2-weeks before it’s television premiere! Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Iron Man 2) directs the pilot for the series that’s said to go down a really dark path. We’re expecting this to turn “horror” mid-season. Time will tell..

Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why? Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet cul-de-sacs, and when the sun goes down lanterns and candles are lit. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it? On the fringes of small farming communities, danger lurks. And a young woman’s life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously – and unbeknownst to her – had something to do with the blackout. This brutal encounter sets her and two unlikely companions off on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future.READ MORE
