Injustice: Gods Among Us Soundtrack Detailed

The upcoming video game Injustice: Gods Among Us, from what I understand, is basically Mortal Kombat with characters from the DC Universe, such as Batman, The Joker, The Flash, Superman, etc… Basically, it sounds kinda awesome. The game is scheduled to come out April 16th for Xbox, PS3 and Wii U. On the same day the soundtrack to the game will also be released. Dubbed Injustice: Gods Among Us – The Album, the soundtrack will feature tracks from such bands as Depeche Mode, Rise Against, Minus The Bear, and more. Check out the trailer and the full track list below. READ MORE

Metallica Announces Lineup For Detroit Orion Music + More Festival

Metallica have released a YouTube video that details all that will be seen at the 2013 edition of the annual Orion Music + More Festival, which takes place this year at Belle Isle in Detroit on June 8th and 9th. The festival will see such acts as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Deftones, Bassnectar, Tomahawk, Gogol Bordello, Battlecross, and many more.

Detroit will see the return of James Hetfield’s Custom Car & Motorcycle Show, Kirk Hammett’s Crypt, Lars Ulrich’s Hit the Lights Film Tent and Robert Trujillo’s Vans Vert Ramp alongside the Metallica Museum and many other fan favorite attractions.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich comments, “Last year’s Orion Music + More Festival was hands down the highlight of the Metallica calendar. A great time was had by all, especially the band members. The fact that it also resonated with enough of our fans and friends that it warrants another go-around in ’13 is beyond exciting. I can think of no better place than the Motor City, with its rich and diverse history of music, for the second ride on our Orion festival train. Bring it the fuck on!”

Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, And More To Take Over Carolina Rebellion

The Carolina Rebellion music festival will be headlined this year by Alice In Chains on May 4th and Soundgarden on May 5th. Other acts include Deftones, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Volbeat, and many more. The event will take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.

After wrapping up our last U.S. tour, we were planning on recharging our batteries for awhile, but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play with the mighty Soundgarden in what will be one of the only shows we’ll play in the U.S. this year,” says Tim Mcllrath of Rise Against.

Michael Poulsen of Volbeat comments, “In Europe and the U.S., we have enjoyed the experiences that come from being a part of the festival environment, just as the fans do. Looking forward to Carolina Rebellion!

Soundtrack To NBA Baller Beats Announced

If you follow Mr. Disgusting on twitter, you’ll know that he is an avid follower of basketball. And if I were to guess, I’d assume that he’s also a phenomenal dancer. As in he’d rock the two-step followed by a Charleston and finish it all off with a tap dance routine that would leave Dulé Hill in tears. But all of this is besides the point.

The point here is NBA Baller Beats, a new game coming out for XBox Kinect on Sept. 11th. The game uses an official Spalding NBA game ball replica and your body motions to match your dribbles and “passes” to the beat of licensed music. I highly doubt that the game comes with a warranty for all the lamps, vases, tables, chairs, glasses, and whatever else is in your game room that you are going to destroy once that ball leaves your hand.

Below is a trailer for the game as well as the disc soundtrack and previously mentioned songs for the game. READ MORE

Rise Against Collaborate With It Gets Better For ‘Make It Stop’ Video

Rise Against have teamed up with It Gets Better, the organization dedicated to helping LGBT youths, to release a video for Make It Stop (September’s Children), which comes off their latest album, Endgame (review here). Check it out after the jump.

Rise Against singer Tim McIlrath: “A number of events were the catalyst for the creation of Make It Stop, everything from the suicides in September 2010, to our own fans voicing their fears and insecurities from time to time,” says McIlrath. “I decided to create the song as a response, and when I discovered the It Gets Better campaign and [It Gets Better Project co-founder] Dan Savage’s commitment to such an important and concise message, I was moved. I immediately felt that if our song is the road, then the It Gets Better campaign is the destination. I hope the synergy between the two can reach people and make a difference.”
“Tim McIlrath has written a powerful song,” It Gets Better Project co-founder Dan Savage said. “With the release of ‘Make It Stop’ and the accompanying video, Rise Against is sending the message to its fan base that the bullying and harassment of LGBT teens needs to stop and that suicide isn’t a solution.”
Award-winning director Marc Klasfeld directed the “Make It Stop” music video in Chicago at Tim McIlrath’s high school alma mater. “I’ve been a fan of Rise Against for a while and it was amazing to work with them on this special video,” Klasfeld said. “As soon as I heard the song, I knew a powerful video could be made that could potentially help people and I jumped at the chance to be a part of it.”

Foo Fighters Annouce First Run US Tour Dates

Alright, I’m gonna put it out there: I love Foo Fighters. Do they have the best music out there? No way. Are they the most musically talented group of individuals on the planet? No way in hell. But you know what? They obviously know how to have fun. Just look at the video below for White Limo. They got Lemmy from Motorhead to drive them around while they scream and vomit everywhere. That automatically gets a thumbs up from me.
Anyways, now that you’ve watched and appreciated that video (you better have…), get ready to check out Foo Fighters as they tour the US this fall! The first run dates have been announced and you can check them out after the jump!

Album Review: Rise Against ‘Endgame’

When I was asked to do this review I was excited about it, but also a little bit unsure of what to expect. I’ve been listening to punk and hardcore music from a pretty young age, but Rise Against was one of those bands who always seemed too “big” for me. And I don’t mean big in the sense of popular, I mean big in the sense of having their shit together. But it was clear after one listen that Rise Against isn’t only for hardcore activists who make it their top priority every day to ponder political conundrums. They really just, well, they give a shit. And that’s a breath of fresh air. Read on to hear what I have to say about their newest release Endgame.

Korn’s Boycott of BP Draws In Other Major Touring Artists

Korn’s boycott of BP has started a ground swell of like-minded musicians intent on making a statement against the devastation in The Gulf caused by BP’s record setting oil spill.  The following top touring artists have joined the cause and have committed to avoid the use of fuel sold by BP or its affiliates on their upcoming tours for 2010: Disturbed, Lady Gaga, Rise Against, Godsmack, Backstreet Boys, Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Slightly Stoopid, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Black Label Society with Zakk Wylde, Anthrax, Creed, Filter, Hellyeah and Flogging Molly.

“This is the worst thing that has ever happened to the environment in U.S. history.  From everything we’re hearing about now, it’s become clear that BP cut corners to put profit ahead of safety.  The message we are sending should tell all the oil companies to spend the money and take the necessary precautions to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” said Jonathon Davis of Korn. “I’m really proud that this many artists have already come on board, and I hope more will join soon.”
