Three Variant ‘The Lords of Salem’ One-Sheets Get Colorful; All Clips From Rob Zombie’s Latest!

We’ve now landed 3 variant colored one-sheets, and all the clips for Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, which stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Bruce Davidson, Jeffrey Daniel Phillips, Ken Foree, Patricia Quinn, Dee Wallace, Maria Conchita Alonso, Judy Gleeson, Meg Foster and Griffin Boice.

From the singular mind of horror maestro Rob Zombie comes a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood. The Lords of Salem tells the tale of Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, a “gift from the Lords.” Heidi listens, and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of the town’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the “Lords of Salem” returning for revenge on modern-day Salem?

Here’s my review out of TIFF, as well as Mike’s more positive take. The Lords Of Salem is in limited theaters (New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Detroit) April 19 from Anchor Bay Films. READ MORE

Every Single James Hetfield (Metallica) “YEAH!” In One Audio Clip

While Rob Zombie will always hold the record for most “Yeah!”s sang in a musical career, Metallica‘s James Hetfield might be a close second. Apparently something about their music just makes them the most agreeable people ever, the kind of person who always nods furiously and says, “YEAH!” to any suggestion you come up with.

Wanna go to Jack in the Box? “YEAH!” Wanna see a movie? “YEAH!” Wanna kidnap an Ethiopian child? “YEAH-EEEEEYAEEEYAEEYA!!!”

Anyways, coming to the story here, Kevin Conklin has compiled all of Hetfield’s “Yeah!”s from Metallica’s history, beginning with Kill ‘Em All and ending with Beyond Magnetic. It’s pretty funny, especially considering that it’s over 3 minutes long. That’s a lot of “Yeah!”s. Give it a listen below for a laugh! READ MORE

John 5 Talks Scoring ‘The Lords Of Salem’ And New Rob Zombie Album

Guitarist/composer John 5 recently spoke about his work for the upcoming Rob Zombie film The Lords Of Salem, which hits theaters on Apr. 26th. John 5 also gave some information about the upcoming Zombie album Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, which hits streets Apr. 23rd (pre-order here).

Talking about the film score, John 5 states, “This was a huge challenge for me. It was like 10 times the intensity of writing a record. It took months and months as the timing is key to each scene. The music was very challenging and sometimes there was no key signature or time signature for this music, which is all orchestral and acoustic with the exception of one death metal song. You had to be able to follow the story and create emotions for each scene with the music. I cannot wait for people to see and hear this movie. It is incredible!

About the new Zombie album, 5 adds, “I can only describe this album as an aggressive, live-sounding and totally unique album. This album has a little bit for everybody. The guitar tones are not traditional. There is also an instrumental track called ‘The Theme For The Rat Regeneration Vendor’ which is all played aggressively with an electric sitar.

6 Dream Tour Pairings!!!

How many of you have thought, “Man, wouldn’t it be just awesome if [insert band name here] toured with [insert band name here]?” I know I’ve done it on more than one occasion. Hell, I do it all the damn time. There are some tour pairings that make so much sense that it simply boggles my mind that the’ve never been done. These are tours that would get fans salivating, drool flowing from the mouth like waterfalls.

So I put together six of my most desired tour pairings, ones where the headliner and co-headliner would not only compliment each other but would take things to an entirely new level. Head on below to see my list! READ MORE

Boss Announce Three New Guitar FX Pedals

I’m not the biggest fan of Boss pedals but I can’t deny that they are incredibly popular and are used by pretty much some of the biggest names in the music industry. And now Boss will be adding three more pedals to their already pretty damn extensive lineup. The three pedals, which will make their debut at NAMM 2013, are the TE-2 Tera Echo, the DA-2 Adaptive Distortion, and the MO-2 Multi-Overtone. Below are videos that feature Rob Zombie/ex-Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5 demonstrating their tones.

Actually, let me get an annoyance off my chest if you don’t mind. If a company is going to release a video promoting their new line of guitar FX pedals and want people to hear the sounds they are capable of, how about they DON’T let some wannabe dramatic voiceover guy talk the whole damn video? That too much to ask for? Sheesh… READ MORE

[Editorial] The Wolfman Takes On Remakes!!

By The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards).

You’re sitting there in the movie theater with your Junior Mints, or in the case of psychopaths, sitting there with Dots, waiting for the movie to start. You have a terrifying debate with yourself for ten seconds while you try to determine whether the lights in the theater are actually dimming or maybe you’re having a stroke. Once that bright green screen pops up, proving that your brain does indeed have enough oxygen, you catch a glimpse of some of Hollywood’s newest garbage. Between romantic comedies and animated adventures starring pop singers, it all looks like the same old stuff. Unexpectedly, a trailer pops up that seems to be pretty creepy, have some decent actors in it, and the credits tell you it’s from people who helped make other horror movies that you absolutely love. When the title is revealed, the entire audience groans, followed by nudging the person next to you and saying, “Can you believe they’re even making that movie?” Or maybe you went to this movie alone and angrily took out your phone to post your disdain on Twitter for everyone (read: not really anyone) to see. No folks, the title didn’t reveal that the trailer you just enjoyed was an M. Night Shyamalan joint, but instead, the movie is a remake, adaptation of, or sequel to something else. No matter what the source material is, nothing seems to cause fanboys to angrily roll their eyes more then finding out their favorite movie/book is getting a remake/adaptation/sequel. My advice to all of you is to quit your complaining about something you had absolutely no involvement in making and should focus your energy on revisiting the source material.

‘The Lords Of Salem’ Gets A Release Date And A Novelization!!

Anchor Bay Films will be releasing Rob Zombie’s The Lords Of Salem on April 26th, 2013. This comes along with the news that the film will be receiving a novelization co-written by Zombie and B.K. Evenson that hits on March 12th, 2013 – just in time to spoil yourselves a month ahead of time like you did back in ’89 with the Batman novelization.

The book has a new, more detailed synopsis. “Heidi Hawthorne is a thirty-seven-year-old FM radio DJ and a recovering drug addict. Struggling with her newfound sobriety and creeping depression, Heidi suddenly receives an anonymous gift at the station-a mysteriously shaped wooden box branded with a strange symbol. Inside the box is a promotional record for a band that identifies themselves only as The Lords. There is no other information. She decides to play it on the radio show as a joke, and the moment she does, horrible things begin to happen. The strange music awakens something evil in the town. Soon enough, terrifying murders begin to happen all around Heidi. Who are The Lords? What do they want?
