“Next Halloween, Hell Comes Knocking.”
Maverick indie director Bruce McDonald (Hard Core Logo, Pontypool) started principal photography last week on the Halloween horror thriller Hellions.
Says Deadline, Robert Patrick, pictured on set below, has joined the cast as “Corman”, a tough-as-nails cop who comes to the aid of a teenager (newcomer Chloe Rose) plagued by three malevolent trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
Also starring are Rossif Sutherland (Reign), Luke Bilyk (“Degrassi: The Next Generation”), and Rachel Wilson (Republic of Doyle).
“The story follows a pregnant teen, played by Chloe Rose, who must survive a Halloween night from Hell when three malevolent trick-or-treaters come knocking.”
Whizbang Films and Storyteller Pictures are producing from an original screenplay by Pascal Trottier (The Colony).
“X-Files” and Terminator 2‘s Robert Patrick has signed on a series regular on HBO’s vampire drama “True Blood,” playing Alcide’s (Joe Manganiello) father, says Deadline.
Patrick first introduced the character on the hit HBO drama in the most recent fifth season where he did a three-episode arc, appearing in the three of the last four episodes of the season. He was tapped for the recurring gig in June, after his pilot “Last Resort” had been picked up to series by ABC. While the broadcast network stopped short of a formal cancellation of “Last Resort,” and the cast of the show are still under deals at Sony Pictures TV, they state that Patrick is being released so he can join “True Blood.”
On the big screen Patrick will next be seen in Warner Bros’ Gangster Squad, Universal’s Identity Thief, and indie Lovelace, which is premiering at next month’s Sundance Film Festival.

THE BLACK WATERS OF ECHO’S POND is a supernatural horror film that explores what happens when we face our darkest secrets.
