Marilyn Manson Releases Official Video For ‘No Reflection’

Marilyn Manson Releases Official Video For No Reflection

The video for Marilyn Manson‘s No Reflection has just come out and is now available for everyone to see. In it, Manson and five pretty young ladies drink what basically looks like the slime from Troll 2 and then proceed to lose their minds. This narrative is splice with footage of the band performing in a room that has a serious leak somewhere as there is about six inches of water on the floor. If Manson wants, I know a few good plumbers.

No Reflection comes off of Manson’s upcoming album Born Villain, which comes out May 1st.
Manson will be hitting the road with The Pretty Reckless later this month. All tour dates can be found here.

[LOL] This Is The Greatest Rendition Of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Ever

queenbohemianrhapsodyscreencap [LOL] This Is The Greatest Rendition Of Bohemian Rhapsody Ever
Say whatever you will about the Canadians but apparently they know how to react after they’ve been arrested. In the video below, a man who was arrested and didn’t agree with his charges began singing Queen‘s iconic song Bohemian Rhapsody from beginning to end. He even went so far as to do a cappella of the parts that didn’t have lyrics.
Now, I’m not saying this was a bad idea. Hell, I think this is awesome! But singing a song where a line is, “Momma, just killed a man/Put a gun against his head/pulled my trigger, now he’s dead” when you’re under arrest and in a police car doesn’t exactly seem like the brightest of ideas. Know what I mean?

UK Sonisphere 2012 Cancelled: What Does It Mean?
The 2012 UK edition of the Sonisphere festival has officially cancelled this year’s performance. The touring festival is a European staple since 2009, delivering some of the biggest names in music, including the first appearance of The Big 4 (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax). While tragic that this had to happen, it speaks to a more worrisome issue regarding the music industry.

Linkin Park has announced that they will be debuting Burn It Down, the first single off their upcoming, as-of-yet untitled new album, on April 16th. The band will also be releasing snippets of the song in the next few weeks on their website. I’m actually really excited to hear it because I’ve heard that they are going back to an older, more aggressive style. Fingers crossed!
Below is a video of Mike Shinoda announcing this information from the set of the music video shoot. Is it just me or does the background look like something out of Alien? There are some SERIOUS Giger vibes going on!

[Review] Shinedown ‘Amaryllis’

shinedownamarylliscover [Review] Shinedown Amaryllis
Being a long time Shinedown fan, I was stoked for March 27th. Shinedown was set to release their fourth studio album Amaryllis and I had spent four long years waiting for a strong follow up to the mediocre Sound of Madness. Was it worth the wait? Was my nervous twitching and spontaneous vomiting in anticipation of this musical release all for not? In a word…yes. READ MORE

Stone Sour Enter Studio For New Album

stonesour2012 Stone Sour Enter Studio For New Album
Grammy-winning rock band Stone Sour has announced that they are entering the studio to record their fourth album, which is as of yet untitled. The album is the follow-up to 2010′s smash success Audio Secrecy.
Guitarist Josh Rand: “This album will be another progression for the band. Musically, we have always challenged one another to push things to our limits, and this record is no exception. Lyrically, the album follows one character to that complex moment in his life, when he finally has to decide which path to take. It’s a spiritual and moral power play for control of what this man will be for the rest of his life. Each song will tell the story from different sides of the character’s personality, with the listener ultimately deciding how the story ends.”
To celebrate this news, the band has made available a free download of their song The Pessimist, which appeared on the soundtrack to Transformers 3. You can snag the song below.

Brendon Small’s Galaktikon Streams First New Song

galaktikoncover Brendon Smalls Galaktikon Streams First New Song
Coinciding with season 4 of Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse, April will see the release of Dethklok creator Brendon Small’s Galaktikon. Described as “high stakes intergalactic extreme rock”, the album seems to be something that Dethklok fans can definitely get into but is also diverse enough to attract new crowds and listeners.
Today, Crave Online got a stream of one of the tracks entitled On My Way. My only complaint is that the first thing I noticed was how boxed the audio file was. There were no dynamics to be found anywhere. The song kicks in and the volume never changes once. Am I right? Am I wrong? You can hear the song below and give me your thoughts.

[Single Review] Garbage ‘Blood For Poppies’

garbagebloodforpoppiessinglecover [Single Review] Garbage Blood For Poppies
I’ve been listening to Garbage for more years than I can remember. Shirley Manson’s voice is one of the more memorable aspects of music from the 90’s. The music only reinforces the power of the band. Ranging from aggressive to mellow to heavy rock to ambient electronica, often times within the same song, Garbage has an appeal that is impossible to deny.
Now, with a new album, Not Your Kind Of People, coming out May 15th, the spotlight is back on and the music world is waiting with baited breath. To give fans a taste of their return, Garbage has released a new single, “Blood For Poppies”. How does it stack up against the hype?

Tool Drummer Danny Carey Hints At Band Entering Studio This Summer
Vic Firth has uploaded a three-part video interview with Tool drummer Danny Carey. In this interview, Carey discusses the songwriting of the band, his drumkit, his signature sticks, and more. He also drops a little nugget that he hopes the band will be entering the studio in June or July to begin the tracking process for the next Tool record. If that’s the case, don’t expect the album to be released until winter or even possibly spring 2013.

Garbage Releases New Single: Offer Free Download
Not only has Garbage released their first single, Blood For Poppies, but you can download it for free for the next week! The track comes off their upcoming album, Not Your Kind Of People, which comes out May 15th. The track will be issued on a limited edition, white vinyl 7-inch on Record Store Day, April 21st. The vinyl will also include a remix from drummer Butch Vig.
Shirley Manson states, ”Blood For Poppies is meant to feel sort of like an abstract dream. The inspiration came from a story I had read in The Los Angeles Times about the opium trade and also from watching the documentary Restrepo. It’s not literal in any sense whatsoever but it’s a song about disorientation and delusion and the human struggle to stay sane in the face of insanity.”
I’ve listened to the song a few times now and I’m loving it! Check below for the free download widget and let me know what you think!

[Review] Adrenaline Mob ‘Omertá’

 [Review] Adrenaline Mob Omertá
Comprised of some of the most talented musicians in the rock/metal scene, Adrenaline Mob has a lot going for it. After all, it’s Mike Portnoy (ex-drummer of Dream Theater), Russell Allen (singer of Symphony X), John Moyer (bassist of Disturbed), and guitarist Mike Orlando. With that kind of line-up, you gotta wonder what the final product is going to sound like. Dream Theater and Symphony X? Hell yeah! It’s gonna be some intense prog metal! But wait, Disturbed? So, it’s gonna have some commercial heavy rock appeal? And Mike Orlando, who played with Zakk Wylde and Bumblefoot, which means we’ll likely hear some shredding.
Is this the final product? Is this the sound that the band delivers? And, ultimately, is it all worth it? Find out below.
