An adaptation of Zenescope’s comic The Piper, which aims to take a dark look at the Pied Piper of Hamelin fable. The story will center on a much-bullied high school band student who unintentionally channels the spirit of the mysterious Pied Piper and triggers terrifying consequences of his actions beyond his control.
Apparently, there’s a game called Grand Theft Auto V that released pretty recently. You might have heard of it, I hear it’s like Saints Row IV, only with less dildos.
One fan decided to take it upon himself to turn the game into a horror movie, or, at least, the trailer for a horror movie. In between the myriad Fucks that are about to assault your earholes you can look forward to hockey masks, explosions and even some brief chainsaw action. Check it out after the break.
Now this is interesting. Take-Two, the house of Grand Theft Auto as well as the short-lived and highly controversial stealth horror series Manhunt has filed a dispute over the domain name valiant-ent.tv.
The domain was used as a fake snuff site to promote the Manhunt series. Since the series has been dead for some time, a fan decided to take the domain and use it as a petition to get Manhunt 3. Now, Take-Two wants it back.
Rockstar Games has been a consistent source of truly gritty gaming experiences over the years. Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne — they’re all ultra-violent story-driven games that aren’t quite like anything else out there. They were undeniably dark, yet they pale in comparison to the controversial stealth horror Manhunt series. It never really found the critical or commercial reception required to become a successful series, but that didn’t keep it from finding a substantial cult following.
Soon, you’ll be able to sneak up behind and suffocate more unsuspecting goons with plastic bags when the original Manhunt re-releases on the PS3′s PlayStation Store on May 14th for $9.99. No word yet on whether or not its sequel will be making the same transition.
