Album Review: Ceremony ‘Rohnert Park’

Growing up every few years a new a band would come around and slap me in the face. Bands such as Converge and American Nightmare a.k.a. Give up The Ghost are prime examples of this. In a way they would save music for me and give me hope that it wasn’t going straight to hell. Ceremony has joined the ranks of these legendary hardcore acts with their new full length “Rohnert Park”. Interview With Ceremony’s Frontman Ross Farrar

Ceremony is a rare breed for music these days. They are going to be a huge part of the hardcore/punk scene and are a band you shouldn’t ignore. To me they sound dangerous and I love it. I recently had the honor catching up with frontman Ross Farrar about the direction of their new album “Rohnert Park” as well as the Giants and some of his favorite horror movies. Oh and guitarist “Toast” chimes in on some of his favorites too. Enjoy.

Ceremony Unveils Album Artwork For Their Upcoming Full Length ‘Rohnert Park’

“Rohnert Park” is the follow up to Ceremony’s 2008 release “Still Nothing Moves You”, an album that if you haven’t heard yet I’d heavily suggest picking up. It’s dark, fast, dirty and aggressive. Their newest album “Rohnert Park” is being said to be just as relentless. Today the album artwork has been unveiled. Enjoy and get pumped!

Ceremony Reveals New Album Details

Late last year I heard that California hardcore act Ceremony were gonna be working on a new album, that album being their third full length record. Well today not only did I find out for sure it was true but that the album, titled Rohnert Park, has a release date for June 8, 2010. Ceremony’s the perfect soundtrack to a homicide and I can’t express how excited I am for this album. The band had this to say about the album, “Where the owls can’t seem to find, yet the geese are well known. Here, you are bound for the pageant, or bound for the bars. Fingers are pointed without the facts. Truth has no direction. You are useless here. Rohnert Park is desolate. Rohnert Park is majestic.”
